No because he is still laying the blame at the door of the unions and the unions have not helped themselves here one bit frankly even tho it is a just and noble cause.
The unions need to push back with not going on strike so people can see how shit it is and carry on.
To be fair sussex had been woefully underinvested for years. It seems its a square peg round hole situation. SASTA want DOO or the DfT do or whoever.
Thats fine. It really is. Thats progress. Sadly alot of these stations (unlike the London to Brighton line) are not DOO ready (to paraphrase Paul...
Believe...not fact then...I have my suspicions that the guards can see that the job they do wont be the job they have to do in the future. Hence striking and its not about safety when SASTA are saying they will be safety compliant?
That surely is a good thing? So drivers aside an OBS will be fully trained safety wide and can open the doors so to speak. So what is the problem? Again it seems that now its become an us v them because of that bellend saying "smash the unions". Meanwhile people like me and even other frontline...
Thanks. But isnt it also the fact that the OBS will in effect have a different role to a guard and I know it goes beyond "who opens the doors".
Do thameslink have an OBS? Again I understand that on branch lines the tech for DOO just isnt there.
Any mention of that lot gets them twitching which is quite strange as its a BHA board and they are our rivals. Why they are not posting wonky warehouse and seaweed stuff on BBS is beyond me
Actually I am in full agreement here. A second safety person is needed. However does it need to be a guard? Whats wrong with a fully trained OBS? Again serious question.
Every day is fraught with danger. If it isnt boarding a DOO. Which is unsafe then its running the gauntlet with signal failures and broken down trains etc.
