[Finance] Self employed to receive 80% of income from the Gov’t too

Thing is now there is very little benefit if at all of working as a limited company purely as a tax exercise. I believe the biggest benefit, even more so now, is the limited liability. As long as directors haven't had to give personal guarantees you are not going to lose everything if your...

[Finance] Self employed to receive 80% of income from the Gov’t too

Sorry but comparing self employed to employed is like comparing football to boxing, both sports but that's where the similarity ends, I'm going to bed, got to work at home for 7.5 hours again tomorrow

[Finance] Self employed to receive 80% of income from the Gov’t too

But you cannot compare the two like that Look at it this way, you have turnover of £50k, your costs are £20k your profit to service your mortgage, your season ticket, your living costs is £30k you will be entitled to 80% of that from the government Me as an employee has a salary of £30k to do...

[Finance] Self employed to receive 80% of income from the Gov’t too

In his speech he said if you are recently self employed they would take into account what has been filed. Therefore its only people that became self employed after April 2019 who will need to apply for loans or universal credit. If you started in Feb 19, filed your tax return for Feb and Mar 19...

[Finance] Self employed to receive 80% of income from the Gov’t too

You don't get 80% of your 9 months you will get 80% of three months as its currently only valid for three month based on the average earnings. So if your profit for 9 months was £9,000, that's £1,000 a month so you would get £800 for the next 3 months so £2,400 which will be taxable.

    The Government’s 80% wage pledge

I just hope they take a common sense approach in the set up, as far as I am concerned I am quite involved in our office payroll services for almost 200 clients and I just hope they take the view that agents can access the new portal and it will be linked to existing PAYE authorities.

    The Government’s 80% wage pledge

Nothing stops firm, the worry is how long HMRC will take to set up the new portal and experience suggests it might be a while so employers may have to wait for refunds. Cashflow issues and debts to service have to be considered, I can see that. Unfortunately if contacts of employment contain...

    The Government’s 80% wage pledge
