I'm not sure why lots of people on here criticise Naylor for having a good relationship with MM. For crying out loud, Naylor's JOB is to talk to the manager of Brighton (whoever he/she may be) and fill up the Argus with what he/she says.
I've been walkin' these streets so long
Singin' the same old song
I know every crack in these dirty sidewalks of Broadway
Where hustle's the name of the game
And nice guys get washed away like the snow and the rain
There's been a load of compromisin'
On the road to my horizon
But I'm gonna be...
1. Long A-ROADS without proper DUAL CARRIAGEWAY provision. Mostly in the COUNTRYSIDE.
2. Bad SIGNAGE so that you get LOST when trying to follow the INSTRUCTIONS you'rve printed out from the RAC website.
3. When you MISS a vital SIGN because the left lane is chock-full of HIGH-SIDED VEHICLES.
I'd only been in my last-job-but-one for nine months -- in Newcastle -- and they organised a personal letter from Steve Coppell (yes, I liked him at the time!) and a signed Brighton shirt :clap2: :clap2:
Re: Re: Re: Re: Nice one DAVE........
Yes, I'd LOVE to see the new caring-sharing, enviro-friendly Tories announce that as a new policy... and then just sit back and watch the fireworks :clap2: :clap2:
They have raised the stamp duty threshold to 120K now. I agree though, it's probably not high enough -- and second home owners should frankly be taxed until they can't feel their testicles.
But do you really think the Tories would have brought in key worker housing faster then?
:thud:
That is the argument, and because I went to a reasonably good state school (Varndean ahoy!) I can't see it as well as some others.
However -- and I know I'm being idealistic here -- I don't think we should give up the fight so easily.
What's all this about private schools being the dog's danglies? Even if I was left an unexpected legacy by Laskhmi Mittal and Roman Abramovich (or if one of Glover's tips came in, whichever was more profitable) then I'd still send any kids I had to a state school.
Is it sad or wrong of me to...
