Did they really? 90%? I think more likely most were surprised he was a target but were prepared to trust the clubs judgement (something that happens less now)
After a few games it became clear he was a lazy, weak, pony midfielder.
As for OGrady, it seemed an odd way to spend 500k and wages...
Yes I think that's it.
And on this day they had ironically used money to buy a seat at the football at the Amex. So I guess the banner was like a rolling commentary of their day?
Where incidentally they watched Ipswich Town, a football club that has also utilised money to buy players and...
Good on Charlton I say.
FFP is clearly a joke now.
Unsustainable losses now allowed . How many clubs will go to the wall during this gold rush I wonder?
That's a fair point and board are culpable. Our strategy of appointing relatively inexperienced managers bore fruit twice (even if second was a bit undigestible at times). I suppose this is realisation of the risk.
But in business - and that's what this is - if senior appointments don't work...
I'm all for giving people a fair chance. And don't like the managerial merry go round that has been imported to the English game in last 20 yrs.
But if I ran a restaurant and my new head chef seemed to struggle with basic recipes and consistently used the wrong ingredients I'd probably sack...
so just to put into context..... it's like I've
just gone crazy on my credit cards, and purchased a mountain of chocolate and lake of wine. should do me well for quite some time.
and my penalty is that the banking regulator are now preventing me from buying any more chocolate or wine for a while?!
I have no faith in Sami and want him out. That simple really. Watching him slumped in his chair, looking like a sulky teenager, I just thought is this the leader who will inspire us to great things. No. And tactically he has shown he is frankly pretty inept. Let's stop wasting time, this is not...
Is Hyypia the right man for the next few years as our manager? No. Right, let's not waste time, let's get rid and allow a new boss time to assess, rebuild in Jan and prepare for next season. I see no reason to waste more time.
part of this makes no sense.
if you're planning on selling your asset, you would go out of your way to maximise its value - even if just artificially for the short term
surely, it would've been better - if selling - to have ripped up the FFP approach, bought big, got the team close to...
It was so bloody cold that night. Brrrrrr
Last night was great turn out. Just a shame we don't have much to get excited about when watching team.
Amex suffered from turgid football last year and this year a real lack of belief in what is happening on the pitch.
