he'd clearly fallen out of favour with management - so assume he's been a dick recently. he was a good gk, but not great.
also does this free up a non-UK place in our squad, as we start bringing in new signings?
btw, i'd never want to Steele play in goal again other than pen shootouts, which...
Ryan 6
Montoya 6
Webster 6
Dunk 8
Burn 6
Gross 6
Stephens 6 poor vs rest of season
Propper 6
Alzate 7 classy
Maupay 6 poor finishing but good work around box
Connolly 6 as above
Duffy 7
Trossard 9*game changer , best we have
I don't believe that.
I can believe however the initial intent was purely profit, but IF it turned out that one of these two (or other player we own) was actually pretty bloody good, and able to deliver at top level, of course we'd want them in the squad. it simply wouldn't make sense...
Anyone else on here unlucky enough to follow the Jets. I remember on my first visit to Metlife, a lifelong Jets fan outside at tailgate asked me why on earth I supported his cursed team!
The curse continues...
Was Japan's victory at the last Rugby World Cup a sublime sporting moment? - absolutely.
Does it warrant a movie as though it's some kind of miracle event? no
And this is issue with highlights show.
Much of our possession was bold (in intent, not always delivery) and positive but didn’t always result in goal mouth incident and didn’t get shown.
But there was a phase in first half our approach was building decent pressure against City but MOTD...
Southampton away sticks in my mind as symptomatic of what was wrong last season. Total respect given to a very average saints team and we effectively gifted them a two goal lead by being ponderous and cautious. Once we needed to chase a result the team put saints on back foot and caused them...
As a parent of young children I recognise this response as the one usually given when an actual retort doesn’t exist. 100% the team were constrained last year. We were turgid in virtually all away games, and many at home. Defence over positivity, despite the fact we always looked better when...
The good news is new home shirt (and all kits) seems to be available in all sizes including XS for boys.
Which makes sense, unlike last season (simply from the commercial perspective)
"We don’t hold the motivating carrot of first-team football here."
What an utterly bizarre thing to say. I can't imagine Everton, Saints, Swansea, Palace or West Ham saying something like that!!!!
I think the best solution would be a UEFA implementation of a salary cap (not for individual players, but for a squad). Therefore pay what you want to secure the best talent, but you need to operate within an envelope - like in US sport. Clearly the ceiling would need to be a meaningful one...
admittedly less than Lampard and Arteta, and others like Mark Hughes, Tony Adams, Paul Scholes, Sol Campbell etc and exactly as much Wenger had.
not sure what we can learn from that.
not sure I follow this logic.
Lampard has less experience in years and hasn't managed at a higher level.
Arteta has never been a manager.
yes, they've played/coached under great managers, but they've not done it themselves at a higher level than Potter.
