Or you could look at the Ulloa deal as such - Let Murray go for nothing, spent £3m on CMS then spent another season looking for a proper replacement for Murray and brought in Ulloa for £2m and in between loaned barn door Billy and Vokes. And the combined larger wages of CMS and Ulloa. So yes...

If you want it enough you pay what is being asked. If you cant afford anywhere near what is being asked you don't look at it.

We keep letting players go or fail to sign players for a few extra K. We then have to replace them buy spending money on transfer fee's or bringing in loans which have no value on the balance sheet. Your argument is flawed IMHO. But that's just how I see it, happy to disagree.

They were bringing in and paying top 4 wages, totally different case. Not £10 > 12/13k.

No one is suggesting paying over the odd's. But if you do not match the market rates in any job market and are actively competetive3 in doing so you end up with sub standard squad or group of employee's.

It seems to me Tony see's the value in bricks and mortar and not people and players? If you wont npay the going rate you will end up with no assets just journeyman and loanes.

The current value of the Player is £3m we could have signed him for a £1m.

So Wolves value him at ex and we are trying to get him on the cheap because we know they want rid of him basically. This will only be good business if we get him, however sometime you have to pay a little bit more to get the squad right pre season and giver the manager the support he needs...

The running cost of all these facilities do come out of the budget subject to FFP going forward. The investment in squad to facilities seems totally unbalanced. Being mickey mouse over a few k on wages will cost more in the long run to find replacements - Barnes, Murray, Kush, Cook, Elphick...

Why would anyone take around a £2k a week wage drop unless they really have to? If we are always going to try and be a bit to cute and clever we will never sign the best players for us. We seem happy to splash the cash on expensive architects and fittings bit unwilling to offer a few extra...

Tony might be a good poker player and may like a bit of brinkmanship but if the other players know your hand we are not going to get far. We will be slightly out bid every time.
