Kane is the current World Cup Golden Boot winner with a 5 year contract. £140m was not massively unreasonable if that's what Levy valued him at. Like us, Spurs didn't want to sell so of course the required fee was inflated.
I'm not sure there's any difference between how Levy handled it with Kane last season and how Bloom is dealing with this. Both Kane and Cucurella had signed 5 year contracts the summer before, and both times City used dirty tricks to try to force a deal through. Levy did nothing wrong last season
It's amazing that so many people haven't mentioned this... the conversations seems to be more about getting a new wing-back. Cucurella really played centre-back last season, and probably will this season. Hence, we need a left wing-back who can also play centre-back
Not sure about that. If his stats suggest he's already top quality, while he's still only 22, then I think we would be in for him. We were after Nunez for more allegedly. Bloom is all about resale value
He's only 26 to be fair (almost 27). We've allegedly been tracking him for 5 years too. I would argue there's definitely a resale value as if he's a success for 2-3 years he still won't even be 30.
