Looking at the fixtures of other clubs l see that Newcastle have to play Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading all away in a week! Brighton away 28/2, Huddersfield away 4/3, and Reading away 7/3. They then have the little matter of Fulham home on 11/3!!
On the contrary! It's an observational comment and to be honest it's a fairly predictable. We take the lead, we make a couple of defense minded substitions we start sitting deeper and we spend the last 10 minutes with our backs against the wall whilst inviting the opposition to punt balls into...
It's just my opinion as a fan of 40+ yearsand objective supporter. When we are winning by one goal the last 10 minutes are uncomfortable to watch when we are sitting deep and constantly defending. Of course teams are going to press for the equaliser but without anyone up the field to hold the...
To be fair l said 'occasionally'. Inviting teams which may be better than Cardiff, may score! Personally l would rather be playing the game in the opposition half than inviting the pressure.
I'd leave either knockeart or march, or preferably both, up the field at opposition corners and the opposition would have to leave half their team in defence to mark them!
Top of the league and eleven points clear of third you wouldn't think there is anything to criticise but one thing that puzzles me is when we take the lead, which we generally do, why do we start to sit deeper and deeper and bring all eleven players back behind the ball for opposition corners...
Cardiff came to frustrate us, and boy did they do that! There could have easily been 10+ minutes added on for each half for the time-wasting. Referees need to get a grip! 27000+ people in the stadium saw it except the prat in black
The shot was hit with such force from about 3 yards away knocked him clean off his feet! If he hadn't protected himself it could have caused a serious injury as his face was directly in line! Besides the ball hitting his face, stockdale was right behind it too judging from one of the angles...
With the Albion beating Sheffield Wednesday in the manner we did on Friday and Leeds and Reading losing yesterday after both being ahead, l have had a bloody good weekend! The cherry on the top was Palace losing in the 87th minute! Life doesn't get much better!!
