    [News] BBC List of Wages

You need to ask yourself some bigger questions, such as why we have lost so much of our sport from free-to-air to subscription broadcasting? Our terrestrial TV simply outbid in the marketplace. MotD is sold around the world, so Lineker & Co bring in a revenue stream to the BBC. If viewing...

    [News] BBC List of Wages

In a market economy, surely the comparison for Lineker is against his contemporaries at Sky, TNT, ITV or other channels? Aren't Neville and Carragher both reported to be on £1m each? Roy Keane is on £1/2m+ for a few appearances on ITV. Jeremy Vine's salary would in turn be comparable to his...

[Other Sport] Sir Andy Murray to retire

Brilliant brilliant tennis player, great ambassador for his sport and country. Not only sad to see him go, but disappointing he's not passing on the baton as Henman did to Murray. Always loved Scotland, the people, the place. No issue with them having a sporting grudge, all part of the fun. I...

    [Politics] The Labour Government

We don't deport any unsuccessful applicants to any country where there is a real risk of serious harm, persecution or death (Non-Refoulement Principle). Unsuccessful applicants are offered funds (AVRR) to return to a country of origin or third country and may be given financial support to help...

    [Politics] The Labour Government

We don't have return agreements with Syria, Iran or Afghanistan as they are not safe to return people to, and also their complex, shifting authoritarian governments make reaching any kind of agreement problematic anyway.

    [Help] New oven - advice

Induction hobs all the way now. A lot more efficient than ceramic or gas hobs and heat things up way quicker too.

    [Help] New oven - advice

Our AEG BSK882320M is a pile of poo. Steer clear. Whenever you open the door and any steam comes out it triggers to touch control buttons and turns itself off. My sister has the same one and does the same thing. Get a pyrolytic cleaning oven - I wouldn’t buy another oven without this feature.

    [Football] The Harry Kane Problem

Beckenbauer pulled 1 back on 68mins when Charlton was still on the pitch. He kept Charlton on longer than he had against the Czechs. Some would argue England played their best football of the tournament between Beckenbauer scoring on 68, and Seeler's bizarre equaliser on 86mins. (remembering...

    [Politics] Trump under fire.

Trump, Farage, Rees-Mogg et al are of philosophy where the principles of democracy don’t work and essentially you need to move toward authoritarianism and effectively an end to state care and intervention in society. I think they admire Putin because he’s already there. I mean if you don’t rate...

    [Politics] The Labour Government

[Football] Who do you want to be England manager?

In that case it should be Lee Carsley, who unlike Southgate WON the U21 Euros ibeating the then champions Spain. Carsley has already managed the likes of Gordon, Palmer, Curtis Jones, Colwill, Gibbs-White, Brainthwaite at international level. Let’s remember de la Fuente has never managed a...
