    Gate receipts

Not sure, but none of it goes to the clubs involved - it all goes to the FL and ultimately then to the pool. The hosting club can negotiate a 'facility fee' from the FL, which is designed to cover expenses setting it up.

    Gate receipts

The pool money is shared between all the clubs in the league, so we would have (or still might) benefit if we don't reach the playoffs.

More football violence today at Newcastle v Sunderland - 27 arrested

I think you're dead right there, we all have our own experiences of good and bad and all clubs have some fans who will welcome you and some who won't. Some clubs are worse than others though.

Trouble at the FA Cup Semi...

Having been brought up in a Millwall catchment area, I've know quite a few Millwall fans over the years. None of them are the type of people who want to be involved in trouble, but the odd thing is, they all quite like the tag that Millwall fans have. They kind of condone it, in the manner of...

What would you do with £220,000 per week?

They have to bung a shed load into their pension scheme to make sure they can maintain their lifestyle when they retire with knackered bodies. You need a big pension pot to pay £1m plus pa from the age of 35.

More football violence today at Newcastle v Sunderland - 27 arrested

That's a real shame. Always found Sunderland fans really friendly and decent on my travels up there. Never forget the respect they paid the team when they ran out for the match in April 83, the first away match after winning through to the cup final. Newcastle fans on the other hand.......

Baroness Thatcher - Dead / RIP

That's a really interesting perspective. The MT debate has become so polarised, it's good to see some appreciation across the political divide. I'd be interested to know how you see the political spectrum now (but maybe this isn't the correct thread).

Baroness Thatcher - Dead / RIP

RIP Baroness Thatcher, the greatest PM of my lifetime. She turned a country on the brink of bankruptcy into a beacon of free-enterprise. She proved that anyone can achieve if they work hard enough whatever the barriers. She fought for the common people, so they could live lives previously...

Is tomorrow's match the biggest of Gus' tenure so far??

Wow, a great example of how our squad depth and quality has improved this season when you compare it to tomorrow's likely team. We're in miles better shape.

    Thoughts on Charlton tonight...

I'd also add that, not only did they have a great tactical plan, they worked their nuts off to make sure it worked. I can't remember seeing a harder working team this season, they really played for their manager. Much as I was desperate for us to score at the end, it would have been hard on...

    Albion vs Charlton 1979

Sorry - Paul it was - Doh. Loving the pictures, really takes me back. Long hair and tough men.

    Albion vs Charlton 1979

It was 2-0, a goal each half. Peter Clark and an OG. 30k gate for Easter holiday fixture, I remember it well because it was my first Albion game! I was a JCL in those days.

Anti-malarial tabs - your advice experiences sought

I've taken Larium and Malarone on various different trips. Had no problems at all with Larium first time, second time I felt a bit queezy after a few days out. Trouble is you never really know if it's the tablets because there can be so many other potential causes when travelling. Malarone...

The Firkin pub chain - sorely missed

That was my regular back in the late 80s when I lived around there. I can recall many dogbolter drunken nights singing along to the piano music of Mike Hayes and helping by handing out song sheets and going round later with a collection glass. He used to show his appreciation by playing Sussex...

I left my thermos under my seat yesterday.....

Call West Stand reception on 01273 675372 - they deal with lost property. I retrieved my lost car key from them today and they seemed to have loads of other stuff in their book. Very friendly young lady, too.

March on his way to Amex

Funnily enough, March Plumbing & Heating. Based in Hailsham, it's a family firm, but you could have a look on marchplumbing.com. Quality of work was top notch.

March on his way to Amex

The father of this lad was fitting my central heating last week, the job took ages because he was going here, there and everywhere to sort him out. He said that Sunderland were offering silly money, including flying him (the father) and his wife up every weekend and all sorts. Apparently there...

    Unreadable Heritage Stones

As for you, wendy's tackle, it's a real shame that your 2nd post in 7 years has to be on this thread - but many thanks for doing so. I'm very careful with my posts. Oops, that's three now.

    Unreadable Heritage Stones

Please add me to the list - certificate 89. Hard to complain about the club at the moment, but I think they could and should have done much better with the stones. Their small size and faint print make them very hard to spot and even harder to read, a problem that will only get worse given...
