Yep, thought it was gonna be an interception, then incomplete pass. Then the line judge ran over out of nowhere to signal he caught it! Reminded me of the 1966 linesman a little bit!
I may have quoted you but it was more in reference to the rest of this thread. I agree, refs should be more strict on it and should warn once and start cautioning after that. If they don't, expect teams to do exactly as Cardiff did. They didn't seem to play much quicker when going behind though...
We bloody have in the past, when we were the lesser team. Just because now we're doing well I can't see why we'd expect every team to come here and play free flowing attacking football and not time wasting. I don't really understand why you think teams like Cardiff with their manager would play...
Obviously when we've taken the lead. Every team does it, we did it with Ankergren back in Withdean days and we will continue to do it with Stockdale now.
The thing that gets me is the 'the ref moans at Stockdale but not their GK' comments. He ran half the length of the pitch to have a word with...
They played this way in the home game and it's the way Colin sets up, so was safe to assume that it was going to happen. Just don't agree with your statement that it ruined the game for you as we still won.
We'd have done it regardless of whether the other team did it to us or not, it's just what happens in football. Cardiff (Colin) thought the best way to try and get a result against us was to play the way they did and I'm not surprised they played that way.
You must have known going into that match how they were going to play though. I've seen better matches where we haven't won and can say that I'd take tonight's 1-0 over a 3-3 draw.
Don't understand how anyone can moan about time wasting. It shows how good we are when teams do it at 0-0. To combat it we have to create more and score which we did eventually.
I thought Cardiff played a good game plan that nearly worked had it not been for the goal. We didn't create too much...
Not surprised by the decision, thought at the time that it could have been a red or a yellow. You can make arguments either way. Unless there is conclusive evidence the ref has made a mistake (which i don't think there was) the fa aren't going to g against the ref's opinion.
Definite penalty for me, it's a late challenge where he got nowhere near the ball.
If this was in the middle of the pitch and the player attempts to pass the ball and in doing so kicks it off the pitch but is taken down by a late tackle, it will be given as a foul. I cannot see why it being in...
