Time to admit that Andy Naylor and Brian Owen got more things right than wrong in the window. OK, neither saw Mwepu coming from very far out, but neither did anyone in the national media. They both consistently denied the Edouard rumours, but said Cucurella would probably happen.
Meanwhile...
The Leeds documentary on Netflix or Amazon or whatever it was showed that they had had James in the building, knew all about him, knew that he had wanted to come previously, presumably done all their due diligence on him, so settling on terms would have been relatively quick, yes. But surely...
It would be a cause for celebration if was as cut and dried as you seem to suggest. 33k+ cases today and 61 deaths. Tom Hark is right - this particular war isn't over at all. Although it is for those 61.
For a ridiculously low price of £7m, it's said.
I assume Cardiff will also give squad players a game tonight so I think we can be reasonably confident about tonight.
I agree. Bissouma of all people should have seen from the Ben White sale that TB will not stand in a player's way as long as the offer is reasonable. So he has no reason to run his contract down. His best option is to play at his top level to make sure those bids come in.
I'm quite surprised by this. I didn't think he had shown much either at under-23 level or on loan. But I suppose since we spent seven figures on him, it protects our investment.
Apparently Palace are now sniffing around and it's reported that their fans will be ecstatic if they nick a player from us that we were never interested in.
Such is the state of the football rumours business.
You could make the argument that Palace's financial model has been successful, because they are still in the Premier League. And every season they stay up and collect another £100m (and extend Zaha's contact once more), they have succeeded again.
Last season we got Danny Welbeck in. He's a striker. The previous summer we got Neal Maupay in. He's a striker (sort of). The one before that, Percy Tau. Before that, Andone. And they're all still here. We get strikers in, just not ones that people seem to like.
