A match quality adidas Tango cost £40 from Swift Sports in 1986 (I remember this because I used to stare at them longingly through the window after swimming). That's £115 adjusted for inflation.
I'm pretty sure an Amazon Prime stream of Brighton v Brentford won't have added 'millions' to the viewing figures. A few more tens of thousands, perhaps.
On the train to Gatwick now. Arriving in Athens this afternoon.
Tangible excitement at receiving the ticket collection email yesterday. It feels thoroughly decadent having been abroad for three such occasions in short order.
A welcome if expensive three points.
1 defeat in 9 all comps (to Manchester City by the odd goal): 7th in the league, good position to progress in Europe despite an injury crisis.
Thing is, at least three cups were luzzed well after the initial goal celebration, in a deliberate attempt to get them over the glass/perspex. They landed on the polythene on the other side and partially obstructed (or at least slightly polluted) the already compromised view we had.

It would have been so disappointing. But I just ordered two new boxes of in-date tests for whenever I get any sort of bug.
I accept some people will feel this is OTT, but perhaps they've been luckier as regards to those close to them being affected.
Thanks to this, Long Covid is still ruining lives.
Having seen my partner's life devastated by Long Covid, I won't ever knowingly spread it.
I'd have been utterly gutted, heartbroken even. But I wouldn't have travelled. This will be the same for Amsterdam and Athens too.
