    [Misc] Autism - Neurodiversity

My younger son (14) was diagnosed ASD 3 years ago after 7 years of us "knowing" there was something different but not quite finding out what, despite several assessments for various things. He was always described as "quirky" affectionately and once we got the diagnosis and had more information...

[Other Sport] Official NFL Thread 2022/23

"This is the AFRTS parade of sports"... That was my essential listening every Sunday night of my childhood - it was 873 on medium wave and the signal was shocking!

[Other Sport] Official NFL Thread 2022/23

It definitely has been a fun ride, I had very low expectations going into the season, and Geno has been way better than I thought he would be - we really don't miss Wilson at all and we clearly made the right move at the right time. Not expecting much on Saturday but then we were 7-9 and up...

[Other Sport] Official NFL Thread 2022/23

It's mad - there was no way on earth Detroit were winning in Lambeau, with nothing on the line for them, and everything for the Packers... and yet, that's exactly what happened! Do we have a chance against the Niners?

[Albion] West Ham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

A player who was involved in 33 out of 38 games last season for a team that finished 9th in the Premier League is said to be average… He is a key component of the way Potter wants to play, and has a specific role within the team. Potter has shown he isn’t afraid to drop anyone who isn’t...

    [Travel] Was I right?

This reminds me of a game at Withdean, It was the first game of the season and I had been a season ticket holder for a few years in the same seat - I turned up early ish, loads of empty seats and someone was in my seat… when I politely explained that it was my seat, the gentleman in question...

    [Albion] Squad Numbers

Not you knocking him down, I mean if the club removed his shirt number as you think we should, that would be knocking him while he is down. Mentally that would be a very bad thing to do - clubs have done it to players in the past and been roundly criticised for it.

    [Albion] Squad Numbers

Yeah let’s really knock a player when he is down, and not give him a squad number, so that he doesn’t feel part of the squad while fighting back from a difficult injury…

    [Albion] David weir

This same conversation again and again… essentially one of “I don’t want xxxx if he’s being sent out on loan, no interest, why aren’t we buying for the first team now?” or “We never buy Premier League ready players, we can’t sustain our position doing that” or “Buy that 50m striker (and smash...

[Albion] Player of the Season 1996/97...

You could make a case for a few of the players… Maskell got a lot of goals in a hugely struggling team Baird also got his fair share of goals and sacrificed himself against Donny to get Darren Moore sent off Paul McDonald keeping his cool when literally everyone else in the ground was losing...

[Albion] Bissouma (Gone to Spurs 17/06/2022)

I stand corrected on that - I did remember vividly everyone apart from those 2 running to Welbeck, but with those “see goal from every angle” videos, each angle is quite short so would have cut off before they both joined in possibly.

[Albion] Bissouma (Gone to Spurs 17/06/2022)

Go and watch the last minute equaliser by Welbeck against Chelsea and the different camera views. One very clearly shows both Biss and Cucurella walking back to the centre circle after the goal - Cucu celebrating on his own far away from the other players and Biss walking back. At the time I...

[Albion] You're in charge of the summer rebuild: who goes, who stays and who joins?

Every year people write off Gross, it’s not his fault that the chances he creates end up in the crowd rather than in the net.

[Albion] How do you feel about Albion’s January transfers?

The shortsightedness of some people on NSC is hilarious… Our whole transfer policy is based around buying younger raw players, developing them either in house, or loaning them out. Then we get the benefit or either players who are ready for the first team, or can be sold at a huge profit to...

[Albion] Thank you so much to the fan who helped my autistic son yesterday...

In our house we have been saying for a long time that neurodiverse people have historically been expected to conform to "society norms" which is why they mask so much, which makes it hard to diagnose. But, it's actually society and neurotypicals who sometimes need to accept neurodiverse people...
