[Albion] Deputy leader ( con) of Kent county council is an albion fan

This is where we miss Ed Bassford. Well, that and many more occasions. He'd have known him, confirmed his support, and then grumbled about something to do with lorries or hops or nuclear power stations that Kent County Council get lumbered with.

[Politics] Lib Dems Win North Shropshire By-Election

All the while he has the (general) support of the national press, and the lack of accountability within the BBC News and Current Affairs department (Ros Atkins aside), he will be able to ride this out.

[Albion] Rare red 1985/86 Brighton & Hove Albion shirt

Final bid was £1,070. Thank you to all those who expressed an interest, and even put in a bid. Once we've sorted out the fees to be paid, we will be making a donation of all of the proceeds to the Horsham District Foodbank and to Macmillan Cancer Support.

[Politics] Lib Dems Win North Shropshire By-Election

Whilst Labour's policy (wrongly IMO) is to not indulge in tactical voting, and to oppose PR, it's difficult to actually make a 'policy', even if Starmer were minded to do so. These things can only be done at a local, grassroots level, where the party members get to know the lay of the land...

[Albion] Rare red 1985/86 Brighton & Hove Albion shirt

It hardly seems likely - in fact, it's quite perverse - that a team with Connor and Saunders should finish bottom of the table. We were bottom even when Saunders was sold for tuppence ha'penny two-thirds of the way through the season.

[Albion] Rare red 1985/86 Brighton & Hove Albion shirt

The crowd was just over 15,000, all of whom seemed to be packed into the away end. It's one of the very few times I've felt genuinely concerned for a crush, as there were FAR too many Brighton fans in the away end that day. However, yes - it is the very same shirt.

[Albion] Rare red 1985/86 Brighton & Hove Albion shirt

FOR SALE: Rare (so rare, it's the only one in existence) red, match-worn No.6 Brighton shirt from the 1985/86 season, as worn by Gary O'Reilly. This shirt was never made as a replica. If you would like to make a bid, head to...

[Football] Drinking in sight of the pitch - a survey

They are. It's all part of the campaign, but they wanted rough numbers on the stadium drinking first.

[Football] Drinking in sight of the pitch - a survey

I understand your point, but would counter by saying I am far from convinced that decriminalising drinking in sight of the pitch automatically needs to lead to 'more alcohol' - at least not to the extent that would need to worry anyone. Even if, for the sake of argument, Brighton were to allow...

[Football] Drinking in sight of the pitch - a survey

It's a legal matter at present because you can be prosecuted and receive a criminal record if convicted. We don't know yet if 'most people are against it'. We do know we - as a football crowd and as a society - have changed in the 36 years since the law was brought in. Enough to not criminalise...

[Football] Drinking in sight of the pitch - a survey

How is it 'loaded'? I've merely asked people's opinion on decriminalisation, with two equally weighted caveats of the two main points of view from previous FSA polls. Any other matter is for a conversation going forward, should fans as a whole wish to do so. For example, if this poll were to...

[Football] Drinking in sight of the pitch - a survey

I haven't asked Bozza to do this, but... Some of you may well be aware of Tracy Crouch's, and football generally, efforts to update football legislation from the draconian mire it currently finds itself in. One of these considerations is the decriminalisation of football fans being allowed to...

[Albion] Safe Standing at the AMEX

The bizarre thing is (and perhaps this thread has already covered this), when the club first engaged the fans on this, there was - at best - lukewarm ambivalence. Possibly on the back of the thought that 'well, it will never happen, so what's the point?'. Given that the discussion has moved on...
