[Music] Frankie Beverly Rest in Peace

DMC, a DJ only remix club, had a wonderful version of MAZE and Donna Allen mixed together. Played it a lot. I'll try and find it.

Missed this. Joy & Pain on my holiday mix tape, the long version. DJ friend of mine played a full Maze album one night in a Magalluf disco. RIP.

    [Football] Barcelona trip

I had similar thoughts, but Real Madrid. There for the weekend 18th to 21st October and guess what, no games but they play on the 22nd in the ECL against Dortmund. I presume that any Spanish team in Europe skip their weekend game. Athletico Madrid have an unconfirmed game v Leganés. Then noticed...

You need to watch it. Even the presenter admits it is the greatest legal scam ever. The vignette costs 12 euros. Behind the money exchange is the official machine to buy the vignette at 12 euros. This money exchange charge 17 euros and it's cash only.

[Travel] Driving in Europe (Holland/Gemany) advice, experiences etc

Drove to Amsterdam, four times to Cologne, many times Calais and down the coast and a round trip to Rouen. It's so easy to do as long as you remember to drive on the right. Drivers are so kind. No 'middle lane hoggers'. Motorways are two lanes most of the time, and very quiet. As soon as a car...

    [Misc] Plantar Fasciitis...

My wife suffers from it. First had it in Dubai around 12 years ago and has suffered since then. Wears some sort of arch in her Skechers and helps a bit. With her hobbling along and me with gout we make a right pair.

Most famous person you have met, shook hands with and a chat

Can I have a 'Who are you?' moment. I've had many famous people in the shop over the years. My Mum had Sarah Ferguson in prior to the Toe Sucking incident but after the separation with Andrew. She came in with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, both only babies at the time around 1992. John...

[Football] Would Man City take a 100 pt deduction tomorrow.

I'm not sure the players would leave anyway. Still got the Champions League and FA Cup. Yes Sky/TNT money would be a lot less but Sky would show them live every week. Also away fans tickets would more than double at £60 (no £30 limit) which would bring in £2 million extra. They'd lose a lot of...

Most famous person you have met, shook hands with and a chat

My Daughters get me in trouble. Spent an evening in a Welsh pub having a meal. Group of 8 of us. What I didn't know was that one of the 'friends' was a huge Welsh Rugby International. Got the best table and people kept talking to him. Daughter told me next day who he was, luckily I didn't put my...

    [News] The Grenfell Report.

But in theory there is in place, sprinkler systems, each flat fire proofed and fire doors. What let Grenfell down was that the outer walls caught fire so easily. This spread to all floors very quickly. The normal fire brigade responce is 'stay in your room' but in this case that was the worse...

[Politics] Small boats, smashing the criminal gangs and the UK job market

Regarding overseas workers. Owning seafront shops I know that there are many illegal workers in Brighton. Personally, I never employ illegal workers but in the 24 years of trading I've never had an inspection. I get workers who want cash in hand (every employee is paid via bacs), students on 20...

[Football] Would Man City take a 100 pt deduction tomorrow.

On the back of Leicester getting away with it, if offered to Man City, would they take a 100pt deduction? Nothing else, no fine, no more lawyers fees, straight 100 points effective immediatly. They could still play and win the cups thus play in Europe next season (presume Championship clubs can...
