    Aviation industry and Covid-19

Just got an airfare alert for Los Angeles to Ecuador return for $150 and US east coast to Athens for $250 return. Not remotely tempted just yet but I wonder how many of these airlines will still be in business later in the year and if this is a cash grab while they can or a genuine attempt to...

Have you had Covid-19 ......Could you share your experience?

Just did an antibody test at my GP surgery - had a video call appt earlier and he assured me it wasn't taking capacity from someone more in need and was quite a simple blood test so went along and did it. One week for results.

[Misc] Who is the Father of the House (NSC) ?

I did a couple of meetups back in the day and the Prince Albert rings a bell! I think I've got a (very large) signed Guy Butters shirt in my football shirt closet that I won in a raffle? :lolol:

[Misc] Who is the Father of the House (NSC) ?

Believe I was on from late '97, so crazy to think that even if not posting regularly I've been checking NSC every single day for 20+ years!!

    [Technology] WiFi boosters/extenders O/T

+1 for mesh networks. We have the Eero's setup - I have 4 spread over 3000 sq ft and it works flawlessly, everywhere + the garden gets 400mbs + all the different ring/nest camera devices working great. highly recommended and massively superior to the apple extreme routers + extenders we...

    Aviation industry and Covid-19

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-52450654 Argentina has banned all internal and international commercial flights until 1 September because of the deadly coronavirus outbreak. The authorities said airlines should not be allowed to sell tickets for flights that may not go ahead in...

    [NSC] Holidays in 2021 ?

Hoping to at least be able to drive somewhere later this year but not counting on it - imagine a spring 2021 trip will be the first opportunity, curious how comfortable we (and everyone) will be with flying at that point!

[Misc] Do you have a garden ?

36c here today so have fished all the debris out of the pool for a post-work(from home) dip. Would trade it for a veggie patch right now but pretty sure the sun would kill off most things I would try and grow!

[Football] Ali J and Beram in Preston Park

Beram has pretty vocal (on his instagram at least) and seems very responsible staying home and posting about working out/looking after his kids at home etc so would be awfully surprised if he'd been out training in the park!

[Help] The proper way to zest a lemon?

No idea if it's the proper way but I use a microplane - also have never attempted a soufflé, so not sure if that will give you zest that is too small/big/something else incredibly precise! Pls report back with soufflé photos, very interested!

How seriously are you taking social distancing?

Yeah not sure on travel insurance specifically as I haven't tried but our insurance brokers advised that insurers were excluded Covid related things from ALL their policies with an effective date of Jan 20th - mostly to do with music industry but he implied it would be a permanent fixture going...

    Number of Deaths

I had stepped out of this thread so just presenting this without comment, but to say that the "they died with corona, not because of it" narrative has been stepped up in a major way today by US right wing press in what looks an awful lot like a coordinated move to downplay death stats. Both...

"sent someone to McDonald's with a check for $3.4 million to get masks"

:lolol: Fast food/restaurants in general can remain open here with takeaway only - lots have chosen to close but our local coffee shop is open you just have to order/pay on the app and they put it on a table outside for you

"sent someone to McDonald's with a check for $3.4 million to get masks"

Yeah I think that's nailed it pretty much - honestly, we're in a pretty good spot because California (where we are indeed now based) has more financial muscle and pretty much any other resource, than the vast majority of other states. But you've got some rural states with very low population...
