sORRY MATE, \I LISTENED TO A LOT OF retuns a few weeks ago. And 1 in 3 did not announce the number of spoilt papers, whether they would have signed off the number is another thing, any way my point was, it is absurb and proved in the APPEAL court, to say a strike is invalid, just because in...

    British Airways 2 - 0 Unite

Overturned on the most pathetic of techanicalities. That the Union, in each of its commuications with its members, state the number that destroyed the ballot paper. Which was a total of 11 out of 11,000 voters. The general feeling is that this is a political and not a legal decision. Just...

    What a surprise!

Lets be clear this is just political spin. The expenditure of the Government is open and transparent. Bearing in mind that it is the biggest spending organisation in the UK, and one of the biggest in the world. Only the top line information is only really demanded for and accessible for the...

How much State benefit do you pocket every month?

What's wrong with living under a Tory dictatorship?

So you are calling for a 50% tax on £100,000 earners anf a 60% tax on £200,000. Because with these thresholds - overnight- this will reduce the wealth gap, for under Labour the low paid and benefits income households have not got worst off, but the 1% of our society has got very much richer. A...

Centre Left & Centre Right Coalition.

From the outset of the election, Balls, Mandleson and Brown , basically Brown cohorts were working owards a coalition. However, we will realy never know how intent or relunctant the Labour/ LIberal discussions were. I am clear that Clegg had always intened to line up with the Conservatives...

Lots of media talk backed by Institute Fiscal Studies that a 20% vat is coming

Perhaps that there way of balancing out, however.................... Interestingly even the retail giant Sainsbury, says the vat rise will take away all of the benefit of the £10k threshold.

Lots of media talk backed by Institute Fiscal Studies that a 20% vat is coming

Problem I surpose of people living in a relatively wealthy area such as Brighton, with no reality of the deprivation, unemployment and low income of people in the large inner cities, Wales, North and midlands. My borough, 60% of households have benefits. It has the highest unemploymnet rate in...

    Gen/Election vote on a Sunday,plus A/Vote.

Alterative vote is used to elect Mayor of London and other mayors Labour likes AV plus and for obvious reasons the libs want stv. So what comes in will be rigged, that's why brown wanted a deal on av + and the libs didn't.

Lots of media talk backed by Institute Fiscal Studies that a 20% vat is coming

VAT no choice, for the low income, pensioners, people unable to work, kids, its a regressive tax and hits them hard. IncomeTax is at least a fairer tax. Ultimately atax has to be collcted, the tories prefer VAT, Labour and generally the libs prefer a wealth distributing tax. My issue here...

Lots of media talk backed by Institute Fiscal Studies that a 20% vat is coming

The budgets were fully open and all parties have access to the same financial information? If VAT is coming in soon, then it has been calculated as such. If its a tax in 18 months then so be it.
