The movement of the away fans to the southwest corner has been known for a little while now - the club don't want them directly behind the goal any more.

It will be interesting to see how that changes the Albion fan dynamic - will the south stand "rival" the north?

1000 seats will be made up of corporate seats hence why staff offices removed. Some staff already relocated to be moved back when further dev is completed down the line.

When chatting to someone at the Amex I was once told that there is a plan to eventually move the police box to the north east corner, and relocate/remove the offices or dicks bar in the north so that there’s scope to add extra seats. If anything it sounded like revisiting the shelf we once saw those plans for. Could have been total bollox though.

That's disappointing actually, United recently took away all hospitality in the Stretford end, but we want to put it in. If that happens I just think atmosphere will get worse

I don't think any of these are exclusives as such, in that there's planning permission approved for a new corporate shelf to make the North like the South, and Barber has said the away fans will be moved.

It's the specifics that are interesting though W1A will piss off a lot of West standers who pay more, and 1000 seats in the North seems unlikely. But...maybe?

The Amex would then match the Goldstone in the 70s, where the South could sometimes rival the North for atmosphere; the West was where the posh seats were; and the East was so silent you could hear someone at the other end of the terrace opening their packet of Wagon Wheels.

The assumption is that the previous planning permission fingered in the thread below is still valid and the original plan to put a 1901 box in the North East Corner and a 1901 ‘shelf’ and ‘lounge’ in the North Stand (2nd floor) is now happening after the erection of the fan zone has climaxed?
