I had a good chat with Jimmy Page once. I was working in a cafe about 20 years ago and we just chatted about this and that for about 10 minutes. I thought, what a nice guy. His wife (looked like daughter) was shopping and I think he was just happy to bunk off and natter with me. When he’d gone, realise he’d put abour £20 in coins in tip jar, then someone told me who is was!
I used to meet up with Norm Cook pre-match to sort him a parking space next to the Amex but sadly ANPR cameras put an end to this.
I do remember meeting a lot cool musicians at an ATP event at Butlins Minehead where the artists mingle with the fans. On one of the very drunken nights, me and my pal were chatting to a scouse bouncer who asked us to guard a door he was looking after so he could get a bite to eat and have a fag. It was the artist’s door to the backstage! It goes with out saying that we made sure that each band or artist trying to enter (like the Melvins) were asked to show us their IDs and answer our daft questions regarding their authenticity.

A mate of mine used to be a "Grande Fromage" in the motor sport industry. I worked away from home a fair bit in early 2000s and sometimes our locations intercepted, London being the obvious.There was a "Pass only" entry to the locations he was at but we got round that quite easily.
We both had a mini lamination machine and he always nicked a spare pass in case someone turned up he wanted in. We'd sometimes need a spare passport photo to add but that never mattered. Once I cut a small picture of Bruce Willis out of magazine which passed as a resemblance to myself. When we realised no-one looked at it I had a fake pass with a picture of Denzil Washington to prove the point.
Anyway, point of the story was that on one of these occasions he introduced me to the head of Arden Motorsports. He was one of the biggest ****s I've ever met who loved himself more than anyone else I've spoken to before or since. That bloke was Christian Horner.
Fast forward 20 years and kids in my son's class have to write to a celebrity for some school shit. Jack Grealish replies with a signed photo, Lewis Dunk doesn't reply with anything and Christian Horner replies with an absolutely charming letter.

Mrs T went to every ATP for about 15 years and was deffo at Minehead when you were there.
Sadly I will have forgotten all about this in 20 minutes

Since we are now talking dodgy indie bands no one knows, also have met a few bands over the years.
Fontaines DC, only spoken to Grian and the Drummer, both pretty sound, the drummer was really into his music, really in depth conversation with him.
Had a very long conversation, while very drunk with the Bassist and Drummer from Shame, very nice lads. Had a sober conversation with the whole band at a later date where they described me as the drunkest man they’d ever met. Then you go on a bit more obscure and all of Pip Blom, Do Nothing, Tiña, The Lounge Society were very nice, but The Murder Capital and Working Men’s club they were odd. The lead singer from Squid also a very nice bloke who told me to check out Delilah which is one of the best recommendations I’ve ever had so he’s done well. Most of this forum has no idea who I’m talking about so I’ll never mention these bands ever again.
I got chatting with Sam from Yard Act while he was on the merchandise stall before their gig in Bristol a while ago.
All was going well until at some point he was talking about how the band had earlier all met local gig-going legend Big Jeff, and I didn't quite catch what he said.
I decided my best option was to guess an appropriate response. I went for laughter.
Unfortunately his next line was "yeah, he was clearly really badly hurt". Turned out he was still in a wheelchair after he'd been hospitalised after his flat caught fire.

Probably Cameron Diaz. Had a tour of NBC studios in NYC and she was in between filming a sketch. Very friendly and genuinely interested in where we were from
My wife was asked on a date by Kevin Rowland. She met him at a party and a few days later he visited the shop she owned at the time. She wasn’t there but he left a post-it note with his details. She still has this note.
As of late May 2024 it would be the actress Eve Plumb, who played Jan Brady on the TV Show the Brady Bunch. I was with my son, daughter-in-law and grandson at a function for the Deutschendorf family (family of John Denver) in Aspen, Colorado. I was saying to my son, the CPA, that a certain woman at the gathering looked familiar, probably too loud because I had had a few drinks. Later Mrs Plumb walks over to me grabs my hand and whispers in my ear, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" I looked at her 66 year old face and said "Really?" She shakes her head "yes."
Later at the party Eve Plumb explains that she really didn't remember saying that line but that since it became famous during a skit on Saturday Night Live it became her signature line because everybody wanted to hear her say it. Mrs Plumb is still in the acting business, she did an episode of the show "Bull" with Michael Weatherly who was most well known for NCIS, in 2020. She owns an art gallery with her husband, Ken, in NYC and is currently doing more Broadway productions which includes some singing. She actually was one of the singers at the John Denver party and did a rendition of "Rocky Mountain High" with several other singers at this function. Eve is painting a lot and has sold a lot of her art work at someplace she calls "Plumb Creations" or something similar. She must still have some money between her and her husband because she flew into Aspen from California first class and that ain't cheap. Others at the function flew in their own private jets. While still trying to get her name out there in the acting world she seemed down to earth and someone I could relate to because we are about the same age.

Best was definitely sitting next to Pascal Gross on a flight. Absolutely lovely guy who was very chatty and even helped with my German homework at one point.

I used to know Julius from this band as he worked in the coffee shop i used to visit every day. I saw him support Squid just after Covid.
I meet many people who are in bands; literally part of the territory of where I have lived my life and the interest I have, and often check them out of politeness, but was really blown away by Deliluh. So much so I own a couple of vinyls of theirs.

I had breakfast at a cafe with him whilst shooting a documentary about Mods. He was fantastic company and as a Mod he payed me the highest compliment - he loved my trousers.
Oh I just remembered I met Garry Nelson as well and he offered to buy me a cup of tea, unfortunately I don't drink tea or coffee so that was short lived.

I was working for a large recruitment firm in Central London and they were having a client entertainment thing for one of the 2006 WC England games with a big screen in their huge boardroom,drinks canapés etc. There was a guest pundit to discuss the match at HT/ FT. Alan Mullery! He came in during the afternoon to do sound checks etc and the guy setting up the room knew I was an Albion fan and arranged for me to have a chat. Really lovely bloke and sat down with him for 15 mins. Genuinely one of the first things he said was he didn't understand where all the money that the club had when he left first time had gone when he came back!
