Disappointed we couldn't put it to bed and they looked more like scoring with 10 men than we did winning it.

Decent point though and you'd take it all day before the red card.

Capt Black seems confused :lolol:
Thoughts on sending off: "I was amazed. In the first half when the opponents did that they didn't get any booking. He makes the call by law in a non critical area of the pitch when the ball hit the heel when turning around, to make that decision. By law he can do it but be consistent. If that is the case they should have a man sent off and then it is 10 v 10.

It wasn't, it was a yellow. Kicking the ball away is a yellow card. There's nothing to argue about

I'd be fuming too, it cost them the game. But it's not wrong.
Its the rule , the fact that its barely enforced says a lot about refs and the game. Seen us try to take quick kicks and not been able to because opposition standing in front of the ball and to be fair have seen Buononotte do it a lot. Refs just need to tell the players they will be booked for doing it.

We see a lot of players standing in front of the ball, or retreating really slowly. But Rice actually kicked it away. Not often a player will get away with that.

Disappointed not to see Dahoud get minutes, always thought he looked class for us. Steele made a good crucial save towards the end, but very happy with point. Surprised to see no March again this week - bust up between him and De Zerbi? ???

Plastic Arsenal fans are absolutely raging. They just aren’t real supporters like me.

Great result!
What was the atmosphere like at the Goldstone?

Exactly. They should be FUMIN at Rice, not the ref. But most football fans aren't like that...

I couldn’t find it. I think I’m getting a bit old and confused, I went to where I thought it used to be but ended up getting flustered and accidentally buying a bed from Mr. Benson. Then I got tired and had a McWhopper and went home. :(

why did the Arsenal fans keep booing Van Hecke second half when it was Veltman that lead to Rice's sending off?
I think because he went down after a challenge, but then got up and seemed fine.

Judging by the way he carried on after the clash of heads with, I think, Rutter, he's not one to feign injury!

Great result but what's worrying is another injury to a midfielder. Hopefully the new boys are fit after the international break

@dwayne was spot on when he said we'd get hammered because of Hinshelwood v Saka. I trust nobody at all will ever doubt him again.
Let's be honest he was absolutely RAPED first half.

Yeah, the way he gave the ball away for the goal was unforgiv....

Oh. :dunce:

I actually thought Jack (a young, relatively inexperienced kid who was up against one of the best players in the league) got better as the game went on. But you'll never see it admit to that because you have such a blind spot when it comes to JH.

He was also left horribly exposed by Mitoma and the CBs…..

He was running down the field with it, but it drifted out for a throw in. It's one of those where he's almost making a last ditch effort to keep it in, but in this case he knew it was gone. From the refs position, he may not have been sure when Pedro committed to kicking it. If he had been booked, it would have made no difference to the game.
The main thing is, if its off the pitch, there is another one nearby that can be grabbed, if its the ball on the pitch, that is the one you have to use.
