Like the idea of stocking up on young talents whilst we have previous profits in the pocket and before PSR rules change. But please can we have a centre half in that category?

Probably for the best we sold Billy Arce.

Does appear as if we have a very good relationship with Nordsjaelland after the Adingra and Osman purchases and they seem to have given us the option on this lad before they sell to Sporting who have a similar model to us.
Seems a lot of money for someone who hasn’t scored that many goals but we take a risk with these purchases that we are taking them on before the player’s profile gets to the point that the big boys circle.
I think we said that of the Adingra purchase and that’s worked out well after a season on loan and his break out season with us last year.
Looking at his showreel, you do get a slight Halland vibe. Strong, shoots at the posts hard in a flash when he gets the chance. But that won’t be why we are after him. It’ll be the many, many gigabytes worth of data we have on him.

This looks 100% like a signing for the long term future. We simply won’t be able to hold on to Ferguson once he returns to the sort of form that saw him hat-trick Newcastle. And then you have
Welbeck’s retirement that will hit the club hard. Pedro is another who could be sold for £80m or so if someone like Arsenal come sniffing.

This player might have a lot of development still to come but I’m sure that Tony’s algorithm is coming out with ‘potential top 6 EPL striker’ for this sort of fee.

Tony should buy a share in FC Nordsjælland, it would make things easier.
Given that would presumably then preclude us from buying or loaning players to / from them (a la USG), then I'd say that would NOT make things easier...

To be fair, Nordsjælland have qualified for the league phase of a European competition only once in the past 11 years.

We have a couple of very good young centre backs to look forward to in the coming years of our own - but we do seem a touch light on experience and quality there at the moment.

Never thought I’d live to see the day when “hat-trick” was used as a transitive verb. I fear I may have reached my expiry date.

That was a temporary embargo becuase we were in the same competition last season though. We can resume loans etc. in the January window.
