Aside from the dirty fouls, I was quite impressed with Crawley. The better side for periods, caused quite a few issues and quite surprised they didn’t score - although Bart was called into action quite a bit. 4-0 is flattering but I’ll take it. Minds now turn to tonight’s draw…

This individual who appears to be a mate of 'Beth' has now deleted his account after digging himself a deep hole by repeatedly defending his response to Beth as a 'private joke.' Which is bizarre response seeing as it was plastered all over Twitter.
Oh - He's an Albion ST holder and appears to be a coach of sorts with connections to Burgess Hill FC if his (former) bio is to be believed. Unbelievable a Brighton ST holder would find a funny side of this ugly incident. The smart thing to do would have been to have had a word with his mate on the QT and and not attempt to defend her.

I'd love to join in the abuse of Crawley as a place, but I grew up in Newhaven and we'd often hang awake at night, dreaming of living in Crawley.
Joking aside, quite a lot of us are from small town England. Worthing, Burgess Hill, Hastings etc. You name them, they all have their foibles. They're all in Sussex though, so never far away from the sea or the Downs. Give Crawley a break. Even paradise has to have less nice bits.

If our player then winked, smiled and generally gave the impression that injuring players was a laugh - then, yes - I think we would have done.
Having also grown up in Newhaven, this seems entirely implausible.
Frankly I'd have struggled to point to Crawley on a map when I was growing up.
Before the game I quite liked Crawley Town - having another Sussex team in the FL - but now I just hope we never play them again, never send a loan player to them and generally have nothing to do with them.
Certainly I'll never again pay entrance money to their ground. They are now completely off my radar. Plenty of non-league Sussex clubs to go to instead.

I spent almost the entire match depressed about the Matt O’Riley assault. Everyone round me was really subdued about it which is something that the Crawley twat complaining about the quiet stadium was too thick to understand. But it also meant that I’m not prepared to give any credit at all to their thuggish team. What I did notice was their forwards seemed incapable of hitting a cow’s arse with any one of an array of stringed musical instruments. Fook ‘em.

This is exactly how I feel too.
Newhaven is by the far worst place I've ever lived. Nothing comes close to that shithole. Taking long walks to the lighthouse and talking to fisherman was my escape from that place. If I remember correctly the chippy was decent near the police station

Never been back since an FA Cup game against Barnet the day Barry Lloyd was sacked. The racism towards some of Barney's team was loud and constant from a significant section of the home end. I'm sure it's not like that any more, but I have never felt the desire to return.
It's always been a shithole.3) Crawley hasn't suddenly become a rubbish town full of trash and just about every evil on the planet. Although it remains an example of dull 60s town planning. Their supporters haven't suddenly become scum, although I've only met two in my life.
When I worked there it looked like the sort of place where they assumed you were barren if you hadn't popped out three kids by the age of 18. Bar Med wasn't called 'Bar Shaved Head' for nothing.
It does have a few middle class enclaves but they're mainly full of the sort of accountants who can't afford the annual commute to London from Hove.

Caldy went to visit the bloke in hospital that night straight after the game. His red card was rescinded because the tackle wasn't a foul, but an awful accident. He still felt terrible about being the cause of his opponent's injury.

He was trying to wind Webster up, shithousery of a sort. I didn't like the challenge, or that our new signing was injured, but a league 1 team playing a PL side is likely to try and disrupt, and upset their opponent, in the hope a player may lose their cool and get themselves sent off.
