I hope all the other clubs just step back and watch Chelsea slowly unravel. Won’t happen. Someone will buy the unwanted, but please make it hurt Todd as much as possible.
There was a lot of dodgy ‘selling unknown academy kids to each other for insanely high but surprisingly identical fees’ going on between Chelsea and Villa and Newcastle etc over the summer. Completely unrelated to the fact all the clubs involved have major PSR issues of course. Expect the same to now kick in for some of these unwanted Chelsea squad players...

Even so it's likely that the income won't cover the losses.
Deals will have to be done in regards to the contracted wages, where they exceed the likely wages at clubs willing to take them on.

That won't help anyone though. If they sell unwanted players to each other they still have to release the amortised costs to the balance sheet.

So, during the 5 mins of me reading this thread Sterling has earned £173, it’s a disgusting amount but fair play if he’s been offered it.

I don't really have any sympathy. His anger should be directed at his greedy agent who's put his career in jeopardy by getting him on a 7 year contract.. Which sounds great if all your interested in is money, but if you want to play football and football for England like he was moaning about the other day, then its a stupid contract. Because when Chelsea have a squad of 40 odd players, obviously you will have take your turn. But you can't get a transfer elsewhere, because no one is willing to pay a big fee and big wages for a player who's a bit part player. Essentially he's signed his life away to Chelsea, so suck it up.

Agreed to an extent. Only thing in Sterling's defense is that he was the first signing of the Bonley era and wasn't to know that they'd spend £100m on 4 other players in his position after he arrived.

Can see Stirling saying that either play me or sell me with his statement, I'm not prepared to sit on the sidelines.

It's all part of the Chelsea (shit)show.

Somehow fitting 40 senior players into a 25 man squad.

Going to be fascinating how it all works out in the next 12 days. Or hopefully doesn't work out.

Several U21 players on long deals and big wages that aren't making much of an impact.

They won't be U21 forever....

I noticed they didn't have a shirt sponsor again. Is Boehly in the middle of setting up a company selling something so he can use said company to sponsor the shirts for an obscene amount of money?
Also, despite hating Chelsea, was I the only one hoping, at 0:2, either they scored or City didn't.
So nice when the comentator said 'and Man City go level at the top with Brighton', no they are second.

As Mr Potter discovered its not about the 11 you pick its dealing with the 32, and clearly their agents, you don't!

Whilst I'd imagine the money is good, GP still reportedly gets £600,000 after deductions every month, Maresca will discover fairly quickly the shitshow he's inherited.

The new PSR will mean that players wages and transfer fees can't be more than 70% of revenue if competing in Europe, and 80% of revenue for the rest of the PL.
I think players will move, but for small transfer fees and big signing on bonuses.
Chelsea have a relatively small stadium, and won't be making money in the transfer market, so they are going to be needing that Hotel to sell out all the rooms at huge rates, and get massive sponsorships.

Judging from his comments the last month, Maresca is well aware of the chaos. He's also aware that they're going to be shit, which is on one hand sane, on the other hand making it impossible to change that self-fulfilling prophecy.

He won't survive the season.

I did not read the statement as him looking for sympathy more a defence of how Chelsea are trying to force players they have signed up on these deals out of the club to preserve cash. Look at the treatment of Gallagher as a prime example, one of few players put in a shift for them last season but being frozen out to try and force him out the club. Sterling has not been great but don’t see them doing the same with Mudryk which points to they want his wages off the books.

Players have signed up to these crazy contracts and now want to see them out and all the riches that come with them and Chelsea are trying to force them out as it’s creating them a financial issue.

As expected with Chelsea it’s all a complete mess and one of their own making yet still they talk about this being some sort of project. It’s a hilarious car crash of an idea cooked up by rich American billionaires with more money than sense

Unless they are deliberately crashing the club...

The problem is that Chelsea is no longer a football club - it’s a player trading business. Sterling is no longer a player, simply an asset in a spreadsheet - along with the 40 or so other first-teamers (and myriad others in the various development squads).
They won’t be treated like humans because that’s not how Todd looks at them.

That's a very fair point.

It does make you wonder about Dewsbury- Hall and Neto though. They can't honestly think its a good career move in footballing terms, it must be money driven.

4 of the team feilded were ex Albion.
Three of whom (including Colwill, which might be a bit of a stretch) were involved in conceding the second goal!

I think we should put in a cheeky £15million bid for Raheem.
After all, I think we are in desperate need of another winger.
