Is Wharton is highly rated as "Joniesta" once was?
To be fair, Wharton is decent. Though I take issue with Jonathan Pearce's claim on the radio earlier that "He came on to the pitch with Palace 4-0 down at Brighton last season and immediately took the game by the scruff of the neck (or words to that effect).

He came on at 0-0, I believe, and rapidly gave the ball away for our first (or was it the second?). It was never 4-0 in that game.

I mean, they did. They could both have gone off, or both got yellows. The fact that Brereton-Diaz pretended to be hurt is what made the decision for the ref.

As for Matty Cash, I have a quite irrational dislike for him on the basis that he has terrible hair, is basically a Temu Jack Grealish, plays for Villa and is a grown man who calls himself "Matty" therefore for those reasons, it's a clear penalty for me.
At what age should 30-year-old Solomon March stop referring to himself as “Solly”?

Enzo Fernandez is a quite spectacular example of piss poor Chelsea thinking. Signed for a vast sum of money, on a very long contract, and because they spent so much on him, they can't bring themselves to admit he doesn't fit into their system at all. When they did well at the end of last season, he was out injured and it allowed Palmer and Caicedo to flourish. When he plays, it stifles their other midfielders as he just gets in the way and gives the ball away. Yet they're obsessed with picking him, completely failing to acknowledge that his presence in the side makes others look worse. They have this fantasy of a Lavia-Caicedo-Enzo midfield which is basically like when England managers spent all that time imagining a Lampard-Gerrard axis would work simply because they were both really good players. It doesn't matter how good they are as individuals if you don't have that synchronicity.

Hopefully he'll be stuck there on massive wages and in a huge sulk for years., draining their resources like Sterling probably will too.

Wharton looks like a decent player but was shocking against us. Granted it was his debut but he came on with us 1-0 up and within 6 mins of him being on the pitch it was 3-0.

But that's a shortening of his name (and I have heard other players refer to him as Solomon before, albeit jokingly). Most people called Matthew either stick with Matthew or use "Matt". Only those aged under 11 use Matty, with the exception of Cash and our Australian former goalkeeper.

Shite game this. City look rusty, Chelsea look toothless.
Try listening on 5Live, John Murray has gone full nasal whine far more times than the action actually deserves . Its absolutely painfull.

Better than the midfield maestro at League 2 Gillingham? He must be special.

I think that’s a bit unfair as he broke his leg quite badly playing for Wales, and seem to suffer injury after injury after that, a horrible thing to happen to any young footballer. He was very much in the Wharton mode type played at around the same age.

Are there actually any Chelsea fans in the ground. Absolutely zero atmosphere.

Maybe they're all too afraid to go to the Bridge in case they find themselves sat next to Astrid.
