I agree. The ref could easily blow if there is a possible pen/red card incident, wait for a replay and decision by VAR official and then give the correct decision first time. It would be done in a fraction of the time and would stop all this overturning, changing mind scenario. Everyone knows going to the monitor has one outcome.
Anyone suggesting it's a foul is having a brain fart. If a player treads on another player's foot it can't be anything but accidental unless it was a deliberate stamp down then that player deserves to be sent off and banned. In this case he just brushed Dunk's foot which was comfortably on the ground, the contact was made by DCL who went down from a snipers shot.
Spot on.
We could all see it was a dive, from the other end of ground (upper tier), and couldn't understand why he wasn't booked.

very disjointed in a lot of the first half but when the front 4 clicked it was a joy to watch. Minteh is so quick and strong that he will create lots of chances with his pressing. Thought MW and JM in midfield was ugly in the main and with mooted new signings hopefully not a pairing to be repeated often. Lots of room for improvement but promising start and signs of really good squad depth when you look at who didn’t get on. Really hope FH gives Barco good minutes as absolutely love watching him play.

The turning point for me was that incredible miss by Dwight O’Neill - I still have an image of a thousand Everton fan faces frozen in shock imprinted on my brain 20 hours on!
I think Jason Steele deserves credit for spread eagling himself and helping to force the mistake. He won’t get it of course because so much commentary on here is trend driven

Only saw MOTD highlights but looked for all the world like one of those games that ends 3-3. Or 4-3. Or 5-3. On another day, against another side, our defence would 'of' been severely punished. Nevermind, first potential pratfall of the season avoided. Bring on ManU

It was much more open than I expected and Everton came at us very strongly. McNeil always seems to have a good game against us, in my mind, but they hardly gave him the ball. He was their sole outlet. I think they sussed young Jack as the weak link. it was all they had and hardly played Mcneil on the left. That went well.

MotD implied that the first half shot that hit the post, and they missed on the follow up, was a huge chance. But it was given offside anyway and it was clear as they broke free. They didn’t even mention at any point that it wouldn’t have counted anyway, right? Or even that there was any suspicion of offside?
Nope. Trying to make the game look more even than it was. We started slowly, but they had: a good, but regulation save; an offside goal and an offside breakaway (which they wouldn't have had if he hadn't been offside) where they hit the post.
