This is so interesting. Is there any benefit to us "going for it" this window? After banking significant profits in the last two years and other clubs hamstrung by PSR? Or is it more down to a simple case of needing to rebuild the pipeline? Or a bit of both.

Genuinely interested, as PSR is calculated over a three-year term, right? Is it important we spend now as we'd effectively lose the benefit of the big profits made in 2023?

(Sorry if that's a stupid question)
I'll get in quick, just so a dullard can show that I'm wrong.
1, we've got a huge pile of cash accumulated over the past c2 seasons
2, in the aftermath of Forest and Everton, and the continuing shadow over City, clubs are beginning to take PSR more seriously ...
3, ... which makes this window particularly enticing ...
4, ... how long the clubs take seriously is a different question, and they might find loopholes (see Chelsea) ...
5, ... we do most of our business in the summer (this might have been explained to RDZ)
6, we will have plenty of assets in demand over the next two summers' windows
TL; DR TB knows what he's doing

How much was spent pre-Gillingham? It can't have been much, I remember some big signings in the early eighties but small by today's amounts

So basically prior to this transfer window we have gone from being pretty much bottom of the whole league with no stadium to the Premier League, Europa League whilst having a net income on player transactions (Sales less purchases) of about £70m. Incredible.

Totally unprecedented surely?

I have zero evidence to back this up but a pal told me that Arsenal are making moves to free up some capital by selling their stadium a la Chelsea. 😡

Pretty much how I see it, though I'm no dullard.
