I've used NSC for years and have periods of time that I post more frequently than others but this is still the number one location I go to for any breaking news. Football or world related news is always referenced here quickly and although I first dipped in for Albion related sporting opinion I read threads on so many topics.

Not much to fix and a lot of guests from other clubs visit and stick around.

I'm not easily offended and am very capable to stop reading if I think a poster has gone to far, not sure what else any MODs could do to improve it

I would also love a public live-feed of the 5-10 most ignored users, and most ignored threads, not necessarily in any order.
Again, to hopefully give users some self awareness regarding the content they’re posting.
I don't think most ignored users is something we'd ever publish. However, I just checked the top 11 (9, 10 and 11 are tied) and of those, 6 are perma-banned, one is a parody account easily confused with a perma-banned user and one has stopped using NSC. That only leaves 3 current regular users.

That does give me some confidence we mostly get things right.

Just be kinder and more tolerant of others opinions, and try not to troll fellow nsc'ers across the various threads because you had a minor difference of opinion over something trivial months earlier.

Its probably been said before but it is an ALBION fans forum. I would personally limit the Big Board to just football threads , maybe include other sports.

I don't like the politics, local news, hobbies etc threads - put it in a forum away from the Albion stuff or get rid of it completely. People who post on it may say you don't have to open those kind of threads but for some reason its not that easy. Out of sight out of mind might be better.

Also I think some of the moderators need to be a bit kinder in their approach to others.

The one thing I really like about it is that everything is mixed together.

And if you just want Albion stuff, there is the 'Albion threads only' option.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it's the intersection of Albion stuff and non-Albion stuff that keeps us here. An Albion-only forum would be utterly utterly dull beyond compare

I agree with the suggestion of a separate account for moderators to post from in the forums. If only to ignore the sniping and personal vendettas against certain other users.

To be honest I don't think much needs changing. Like you say the opinion that it is too right or left wing is solely down to the person saying it. The ignore thread thread option has been a godsend imho. Keep on keeping on I say. No one is forced to be a member, read posts, or participate here.
This post exactly mirrors my thoughts,... you have had me since those heady Yatton days @Bozza (2002 ish) ... under a different name..... and I ain't going anywhere....as this guy said, the ignore function is the perfect antidote to threads about lefty ( or righty) political topics,... footy and general sport is the way to go.

I totally agree with this, theres some great discussions on here and threads that have really helped me and other people. I certainly wouldn't want to lose that, however I think the rule of thumb is the same as in everyday life, if you want to maintain a certain sense of harmony within a group its best to stay away from Politics and Religion!

@Bozza I'd imagine there's a site option that allows you to flag up old threads being bounced. Sometimes a poster needs their wits about them to realise that they're about to engage in a thread from, say, 2013 that some wag has decided to bounce, just because they can
I know this is a really big bugbear of yours, but I understand why people - including myself - do this.

Say someone wanted to comment on, I don’t know, Kylie Minogue’s new record on the hit parade. They could make a new thread, or use the search tool to bring up a previous Kylie thread.

The benefit of this is that is provides very often an interesting time capsule of how opinions have changed over the months/years. Reading back through and seeing public opinion sour or sweeten on a subject is really interesting.

Besides, if you click the last page you will only see the most recent posts. If you’re really that bothered, start from there and work back.

The only reason I can imagine people don’t like old threads being bounced is if they’re maybe a little embarrassed about what they might have posted in the past, and don’t want old shame being brought back to the fore.

To this I say, don’t post shite in the first place
