I regularly read online articles from The Guardian. They come up in searches or as suggestions on Google. Invariably, there is good writing and a considered pov.

They tell me that I've read 20 articles (this month?). This morning I succumbed to their request at the end of the article to make a small contribution. It only seemed fair.

Has anyone else ever bothered? I'm not sure I've done this before in years of inadvertently reading their content online.

As wishy washy woke lefty liberals, we have subscribed to the Guardian for years, formerly the printed version, but more recently just online. Because of the number of machines you can share it on, we also share it with both daughters i think.

i think it’s well worth it, and the amount of stuff there is in their archived stuff that you can access is amazing.

As a member of the Metropolitan Liberal Elite I subscribe to their ipad edition which means, along side receiving The Guardian and Observer every day on my tablet, I also have access to everything else online.

I have read a few papers and mags on my Ipad.....The Guardian have actually spent a lot of time developing the Ipad edition, it's superb and, unlike many others, not just the page reproduced on the screen.

Another subscriber here. I get my vouchers through the post and pop down the local newsagents early every day (gets me out of bed) to get my discounted copy. Also use the online version but as an old git it's still mostly the print for me. Nothing nicer than coming back from the newsagent, getting back into bed with a cup of tea and having a (usually vain) attempt at the cryptic crossword.

The most irritating thing about the Grauniad is Adrian Chiles. The man has become an utter bore and I'm sure the only reason he's allowed in print is because he and the editor are having it off.....

We pay £10 a month for the reasons mentioned above.
Doesn't stop me griping that the editor-in-chief, Katharine Viner, allows 2 shite columns a week from Adrian Chiles.
I think he gets £500,000pa for them.
They were married in 2022.
Up the Revolution.

While not just about the guardian does anyone still have a paperboy/girl? Don’t seem to see them around anymore but was a brilliant job when I was 13

I loved my paper rounds as a kid. Up early, my father would make my Shreddies and then out.....I used to deliver to an old people's home and would sit down in the warm for 20-30 mins and read; nice way to start my day.

Yes, it was magical being up early and earning some money. I did it during the experiment in the late sixties of not putting the clocks back in the winter. I couldn’t see a thing in the pitch black and every house got a random newspaper.

anyway to lighten the conversation up it’s good to read that the Guardian are dealing with the big issues in the US election (for us grammar pedants anywa)

As it is my go to online newspaper of choice despite my many misgivings about it and their decimation of the Observer I too make a monthly contribution, it would be rude not to.

I have shoved in the occasional ad-hoc payment to the Guardian. I’m afraid I’ve had to be fairly ruthless with subscriptions however, as I was suffering a creeping financial death from subscription price rises. I’ve very few subscriptions now, one of them to help keep the servers running here.

There was a point where I found I had sleepwalked into subscribing to about 6 different TV services and was not watching any of them. None of them seemed hugely expensive individually, but in my personal situation it made a big difference having that money available.

I started paying for The Guardian immediately after the Brexit vote when the whole of the media and politics seemed to be going crazy. The Guardian's reporting during that time kept me sane and vaguely hopeful.

Very happy to continue supporting their journalism.

I've more recently started subscribing to The Times as well. It's a good thing to have some balance in your media consumption, though I genuinely think their take on some news stories is rather weird.
