I had similar experiences with a Lithuanian chap who was living next door to me a few years ago. The most nonchalant drug dealer on the planet who would scream down
the phone outside his house without a care in the world. We'd have about 20 cars come and go throughout the night, he seemed to be running some sort of overnight drive-thru drug service. Eventually his son decided to set fire to a small tree in their garden and that was the last i saw of them.

I'd have sent the lad some flowers to thank him but he'd only go and burn them.

My brother-in-law is currently in a rehab hospital in (bugger) Bognor where the staff are almost exclusively immigrants (from Africa, Phillipines and eastern Europe). They have been scared to leave their homes since the racists hit the streets. They are all afraid for their safety.

I only hope the events of last night gives them a bit of reassurance and they can sleep a bit more soundly now.

Yeah. Let's kick all the "immigrants" out. That'll sort out the NHS and care system.

You don't half chat some shite sometimes, Sydney. There are 10s of thousands of Albanians in the UK and, believe it or not, some aren't involved in the drugs trade or people trafficking. As far as know Dua Lipa, Rita Ora and Armando Broja haven't stolen a single car.

As for religion, Albania is about 60% Muslim, 40% Christian. However, in the UK there are more Christians plus a load of atheists alongside the Muslims.

Have you ever been to Albania? It's a beautiful country and surprisingly not everyone there is a criminal either.

I struggle to believe this as there hasn't been one protest in Bognor. Bognor has a wide range of people from many countries and there isn't any planned as far as the local press have released. No immigrants have been attacked or threatened as per the local news.

I'm not sure that my dental hygienist will be aware of her involvement in that. I saw her a couple of weeks ago and asked her where she was from. Just arrived from Albania and seemed almost apologetic. 'We're not all like they say we are'. 'Quite', I said. 'I judge people by character alone. Welcome to England and I hope you have a long and happy stay. My teeth, what's left of them these days, look great'

I left feeling very sad that she felt the need to apologise for just being Albanian.

The reality is that extreme left and extreme right are in practice pretty much the same. Stalin was responsible for as many (far more actually) deaths than Hitler and both practiced extreme repression of religion, political opposition, etc. Hitler was of course obsessed by the desire to annihilate the Jewish race whereby Stalin post war had distinct anti semitic views and Jewish purges followed (though he also wiped out just about everyone else whom he felt offered him any threat).

As you suggest, the history of anti semitism shows that people of all political leanings and walks of life have held and hold anti semitic views. It feels as if the left in the UK have more so recently partly because of Corbyn et al and partly because of the Israel/Pallestine situation. I also suspect that much of the right's anti semitism (remember Jewish grave stones in the UK being sprayed with NF symbols?) is being 'hidden' due to their current obsession with immigrants and Muslims. I'm sure they will get back on to it soon 😒

Ok. I just made it up obvs.

If you are an immigrant you don't have to personally be impacted by the racist thugs, you don't have to be attacked or have your property set ablaze to be affected by the pictures and reports of the racist morons marauding the streets.

I didn't say the right-wing had been out on the streets of Bognor did I? I said that immigrants living and working in Bognor had been scared by recent events.

But then I just made it all up for shits and giggles.

Two brothers sentenced in Liverpool for looting in Liverpool during the riots, sentenced to 20 months and 8 months.

Their Mother outside the Court said they just got carried away and their behaviour was very out of character, and we've never had riots before.

OK, the Mother may be too young to remember the Toxteth and other riots of 1981, but the Court heard that one brother had 16 previous convictions for 28 offences including attempted robbery , robbery, thefts, assault and burglary and had served prison sentences.

Not sure how looting is out of character?
