Interesting what is happening with X hashtags.

A few days ago #FarageRiots was trending. It still is, but you won't find it in the trending list. Instead, the auto correct is to #FarageRiot and #FaragesRiots.

So someone has blocked #FarageRiots from trending, even though it is getting many, many more mentions than the other two less obvious tags.

Now I wonder who is responsible for that?

Calling Republicans 'wingnuts' is a violation of X's rules apparently. Pretty remarkable given the pure hate and incitement to violence we've seen over the last few days.

I wonder how Tesla/SpaceX shareholders feel?

He’s the guy who’s promised self-driving cars every year since about 2017, and is going to terraform Mars “any day now” - yet he’s got plenty of time to be sitting around on X stirring up racial hatred.
In protest, I won't be buying a Tesla, or visiting Mars, ever.

Time to ban it in the UK?

Musk is stirring up civil unrest and spreading conspiracy theories. He is a danger to our country.

I'd support banning it tbh, it clearly can't be controlled/policed. Musk in charge giving people like Tate and Robinson a platform to incite hatred/spread misinformation, it's not a safe platform, and with CEO himself stoking the fire with his stupid tweets about civil war etc he's a bloody liability too. It does IMHO more harm than good in society so bin it off. People would be mostly better off with out it

I deleted Twitter on my phone at the beginning of the week and so far I am glad I did. There was just too much bile and hatred to wade through to get to anything interesting.
Same

I used fo enjoy a few football accounts alongside some nice other things, comedy etc. Lately I've been finding it impossible to find anything I'm actually interested in without being bombarded with bullshit

Don't think I'll bother with it again

I refer to it as Fascist Twitter, thanks to Musk's political influence on the content.

Oh dear, I bet you're a barrel of fun at dinner parties.
But I stand by the point (which I made on Sept 9th last yer) and you replied to last evening

Social media companies who have monkey emoji’s aren’t taking racism remotely seriously and are probably actively hoping for racists to use their site.

Hoping for the Online Safety Act to make a big improvement and for Elon to be spitting feathers

Whilst I agree that 'X' is full of horrendous bile and hate and scammers etc etc etc ... I do find it useful. I think it depends on how you use it.

When I open the app, whilst the default is the 'For you' tab, I just go straight to the 'Following' tab. And apart from BHAFC and Worthing FC I only follow information sources like local police, council, Seagull Travel, Martin Lewis, a couple of journalists like Sonia Sodha and Nicky Campbell, Sir KS and a few other MPs.

I have also found it useful when needing quick answers to different things. I recently had an issue with a Premier Inn booking that I couldn't sort on their website. Sent a 'tweet' to Premier Inn and got it sorted in minutes, Same when there's an issue on Southern Rail. Their 'X' team are actually very good and responsive.

My account is also locked. I have no followers and don't want any. I don't 'tweet' - that's not what I use it for.

It takes some discipline not to go down the rabbit hole and get drawn into all the crap on it. So I hold my nose and use it to work for me.

Surely businesses are free to advertise where they want. And if they don't like the way X is led then that's a good enough reason

It does feel like a death spiral. I mean, nothing encourages advertisers like suing your previous advertisers because they cut back. Advertisers, as I understand it, have autonomy to decide where they place their ads.

The lawsuit isn’t a foregone conclusion, but seems unlikely to succeed, and if it doesn’t then Twitter has alienated most potential advertisers and is still haemorrhaging cash.

Elon Musk is also losing market share and money on his EVs as rivals catch up, although the energy storage bit of the business is saving that business.

Space X is the one business where the future is potentially bright, but I can’t imagine that those who have signed contracts with him are delighted that he seems to be spending his days trolling UK politicians.

I think the claim is that they conspired to boycott Elon’s shitty platform. Really he’s just hurting and being a petty little bitch because his Twitter takeover has been a financial disaster.

His lawyers will argue about ethics (lol) of anti-competitive conspiracy practices. And lose.

I can’t see this going anywhere and I doubt massive groups like Mars and Unilever have looked up from their coffee.

A patronizing racist? Crikey!

(That's my perspective of you. As a fan of different perspectives I'm sure you will applaud it :lolol: )
