It could be anyone who says it. The important thing is the message. "That it's OK to look down and belittle, brown skinned, trans, gay and foreign people, you're better than them"Interesting. That makes sense.
Albeit you seem to be agreeing with me that men (white men of a certain sort) want to be like Farage and see him as a suitable Big Dog to follow in their perceived hierarchy.
I can understand the narrative but find it weird that they see Farage as the embodiment of the Big Dog. To me he's a laughable unattractive jackass

You can find a series of lectures from Dr Robert Sapolsky at Stanford University on YouTube, I think you would find them very interesting. He is a Neuroscientist and Primatologist. He is quite engaging and has influenced my thinking in ways I didn't expect. In fact, I would recommend anyone that has contributed to this thread to watch them, whatever opinion you hold.

So I won't be able to write as eloquently about others with more knowledge on the specifics of the sociological aspects of the rise of popularism or the popularity of Farage but I am empassioned about the impact its having.
We live in NW London (near but not in Pinner/Northwood) and my wife is Indian. When my then 5 year old daughter drew a picture of our family at school, her, her mum and her sister she drew with brown faces and me with a white face. That's how they identify.
This is important context because around here it is predominantly ethnically dominated by S Asian communities mostly Indian or Sri Lankan followed by White British (sometimes feels like ALL QPR supporters migrated out this way in the 80's) and then Eastern European. The point being it is a highly integrated mixed community which normally rubs along very nicely.
However since Brexit and more specifically post Covid the 'tone of voice' from the White British section has grown increasingly confident and loud in championing Farage and his ilk most frequently punctuated with 'oh but not you lot obviously, you know the one's coming here in the boats' which being the equivalent of the 'I'm not racist because some of my friends are black' brigade. But in the most recent 6 months there is also a worrying trend of the Asian boomer generation ALSO siding with him.
I engaged a friend's dad as to what he saw in Farage or his words that resonated with him specifically and he said 'he was fed up of this shit & that he speaks a lot of sense'
This to me is a really worrying turn of events because I believe they're all being kidded as to his real motivations and beliefs and sadly it's working to a much broader cross section of the population than I thought possible.

WTF are you on about see you Wednesday? If your going on some March/protest/ demo etc on Wednesday then fine but why don't you do it peacefully rather than sitting behind a keyboard trying to wind up people who may have different views to yours?Well I'll see you two wednesday night

I understand that the 'target' on Queens road is a law firm which has represented Asylum seekers. The anti rally is arranged for half an hour earlier, I'm guessing in the hope that by the time a couple of dozen feral scum turn up, the Law Firm and surrounding area will be full with thousands of peaceful anti protestors making any attack on the firm impossible.
I'll let you know what happened tomorrow night. I am hoping and expecting nothing to happen, other than Buses not being able to go up Queens road for an hour

I don't take sides, I like to listen to all sides and draw my own conclusion. At the moment I see good and bad on all sides but my biggest fear is at one of these protests/ demo's/ or riots as they are being called somebody from one side or another will be killed. If (and hopefully not when that happens) then it's going to be very difficult to stop all out war between various factions.Because it appeared that you were trying to justify what these feral scum have been up to. It was the Emerald Irish Social club, now Emerald Sports and Social, originally was a pub called the Greenkeeper. The building mostly houses equipment for maintaining the football pitches and cricket strips, the bar is about a 3rd of it.
Irish friends of mine avoided it as it they felt the clientele were a bit too Republican, back in the 90's.
I wouldn't know the names of anyone who ever ran it or drank there regularly.
