Interesting that Stuttgart one of the teams interested in Datro Fofana. Wonder if that's a back up plan if Undav deal collapses.

Blimey. a) weren't we very reluctant to loan him out but he insisted so that's his choice? b) I bet that's not true and we checked in on him c) as others have pointed out we were still paying him in spite of him wanting to bugger off at the first opportunity.
He obviously won't be here this season but it's quite amusing watching TB and PB eek his displeasure out.

The player trying to put the pressure on to force the move.

Need to hold firm. We can't be seen to be letting players walk all over us. If it goes on till January, then so be it

Other players on loan have all commented on how closely they're being monitored by Brighton and how pro-active the club is in supporting them, so I certainly doubt that part. Which makes me doubt the rest. I do wonder why we didn't accept Stuttgart's bid though - he clearly doesn't want to be here so I don't see the point of keeping him

(BTW, what's with recent craze of spelling eke as 'eek' - I've seen that a few times recently. Isn't eek something you say when you see a mouse?)

That interview is at least a month old if not longer as it was recorded while he was on International duty with Germany and they went out of the tournament one month ago

The fact that he has made it so clear he wants to go is just an attempt to put pressure on us to sell.. but the pressure for a deal goes both ways. I imagine we’re okay with the sale so long as Tony’s price is met. So this statement also puts pressure on Stuttgart to pay up. Only thing stopping this deal is the lack of an acceptable offer from them. The reported £25m does seem decent but for all we know it could be £10m upfront & a bunch instalments. Surely this deal will go through when Stuttgart realise Tony is not going to budge on his valuation & wants a decent amount of it paid right away.

I admire your pedantry and I'm delighted to finally be part of a craze 😀. I think I've spent the last 50 years spelling it that way (and presumably shouting eke everytime I've seen a mouse!) but you are indeed correct and I've written "eke" out 100 times on the blackboard to remind me.

Well son, if they really want you they’ll find a way to pay up what we’re asking.

Well, he could have a point. Brighton looked for another member to the loan department in March, without Greer going anywhere, so I'm guessing his workload has been more than it should have been. I've had a friend in a similar role in a Swedish club and there's a lot of things to fix.

Many young players who get loaned out will live on their own for the first time in their life. There's a decent chance these kids are calling Greer about everything from how to pay their rent to put on the laundry machine. They feel lonely? Call Greer. Hotel room or apartment provided by the new club not good enough? Call Greer. Manager not treating the player well? Call Greer.

If its anything like the role my friend had, Greer is basically some sort of extra dad to the 15-20 youngsters out on loan.

No wonder Undav wasn't prioritised... but like I said, could be a point to it - its an awful lot of work for one person to solve various player problems, give them feedback on their performances and write reports to Weir & others from the recruitment/planning staff.
