On Vance:

He currently looks like an even worse pick than Palin back in 2008.

His net favorability is -6 where the average for a VP pick right after a party convention is +19 since 2000.
He is a total phoney, the ultimate opportunist. Keep him on Don...

Guardian reporting; more evidence that this election has been turned on it's head:

In the two days after Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, Vote.org recorded its highest number of new voter registrations over a 48-hour period that the organization has seen during the 2024 cycle, the organization told the Guardian.

The organization said in a statement that the site saw a roughly 700% increase in daily new voter registrations during that period, totaling over 38,500. Young voters, aged 18 to 34, made up the bulk (83%) of those registrations, the organization added.

The figures recorded during the 48 hours after Biden withdrew on Sunday were higher than those recorded last September when singer Taylor Swift posted on Instagram urging followers to register to vote, which resulted in 34,000 registrations in 48 hours, the organization said.

Harris bigger than Swift!

Brighton factually.....
The media need to get these two in a room together for a debate me thinks.
Actually that would be a master stroke by Kamala's team if they can pull that off.
Trump being Trump would be chauvinistic by nature and his snide remarks could possibly turn the tide.

Be interesting to see if team Trump manages to move the next Presidential live debate booked for September over to the Fox News studio and not at ABC as currently planned.

He opens himself up to charges of cowardice if he tries to back out but Harris is going to rip him one either way.

I suspect his pride will want at least one more live debate, so convinced is he that he would win.

All his misogynist quips, his racist tropes, his ageist posturing, won’t play for him now.

What will he be left with? Arguing about policy I suspect but we all know from the last debate, Trump can’t follow a script and can’t string two sentences together on where the Republicans stand on policy issues.

This campaign has almost certainly turned on its head.

What an irony it would be if America ended up voting in its first female , Black President just to keep a racist, narcissistic misogynist out of the White House.

The Biden speech last night was terrible, he really should step down.

It was sold as live but the internet rumour (I know I know) says it was pre-recorded.

Oh do be quiet. It was okay. Not great, but just fine. If he smashed it out-of-the-park, then he'd still be running. And stop with your nonsense "internet rumors", of course it was live.

^ If anybody was interested. It's about 11 minutes. They certainly should have positioned the teleprompter a bit better, and he tripped over his tongue a bit. Anybody calling it "terrible" needs to give their head a wobble.

(they should probably fire whoever was responsible for the audio on that video too)

The bar is that low, some might think it's "okay"

That's with a teleprompter, how bad is he thinking on his feet?

I've seen it through.

It was shockingly bad.

It was certainly not 'OK'

My thoughts, too.

Given the importance of the broadcast, I'm assuming that was Biden at his 'best.'

So if that broadcast represents Biden at his best, what is he like the rest of the time, ffs?

It wasn't OK. His speech was slurred and he tripped over his words several times. I liked the messaging from a content perspective though, but I am disappointed he steered clear of the shark vs electrocution issue. It would have been fun if he'd addressed it just to highlight what a moron Trump is.
