You cant really compare club management and international management, it's a different kettle of fish
But you just did with your Fergie Southgate post

Really? Fair do’s, I thought he was below average and never had control of the midfield. He was unlucky with his shot off the post, but he made a number of mistakes and was very sideways and backwards in neutral zones. Sorry, I thought he was so-so at best.

Our best players were Mainoo, Eze and Palmer but nobody was great. It was a very, very poor showing with few positives other than the victory itself
His reading of the game is first class, always finds the loose ball in the defensive 3rd and recycles the ball effectively from defence into attack

Absolutely no positive comments?, sad really, I thought Declan Rice was sublime
Marginally better today but this tournament has largely passed him by.

They have a 100% record at the euros having won against Italy and Croatia in the process. Suggesting they might be better than England is appropriate don’t you feel?
maybe they've peaked too early. Spain always look good at tournaments early on but generally bottle it

Like the 3 tournaments - Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, Euro 2012 - that they won in succession when they also had a good team?

Possibly, apart from the World Cup and the two Euros they’ve won in the last 16 years that is.

While I agree with you (they've looked good while we've looked poor), Italy and Croatia were both crap this tournament.

that was for sake of argument using single match examples
Do you think Southgate is a top manager then? It’s been obvious Foden & Bellingham don’t work in the same team to everyone apart from him. By the law of averages the quality of players he has at his disposal occasionally they will win games nothing to do with Southgate’s managerial skills.

True. But we wouldn’t hear the last of it had England dispatched Croatia and Italy.

Jesus  You picked an example, for the sake of argument. Your example was poor (Fergie wasn't just a good manager for turning that one game around), you were told why your example was poor, and then you complain that we're talking about a club manager, when you were the one talking about him!

So you bring up a club manager as an example and you're basically saying we're not even allowed to question your example because he's a club manager :shootself

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you're shitfaced.

Spain lost to Switzerland in their first 2010 World Cup group game, but ended up winning the tournament! :)

The most comedic thing with tonight was as soon as Southgate abandoned his shite tactics we scored two goals in 5 mins.

It’s like he hasn’t kept up with modern day football. Just like real life you need to change your job every 2 to 3 years to keep you on your toes and learn new things. He’s learnt f*** all. He will start the same team and formation Saturday and we will struggle again. If we get over the line it will be by luck than judgement.

You give hapless Gareth far too much credit, that win had stuff all to do with Southgate, it was borne out of desperation of the players and them alone, there was zero tactical input from Mr f***ing Bean, the players abandoned anything that muppet said and finally had a go and guess what it worked in spite of Southgate not because of him. We could win this tournament at a canter instead we are progressing whilst stinking the place out with Hopeless Gaz's anti football tactics.
