I was born in to a footballing family. My mum was a die hard Brighton fan who used to go with her dad (I’m sure someone on here will remember John & Angela Knight). On the other hand there was my dad, a diehard Chelsea fan. He’d been going since they were proper dogshit. One of the few Chelsea fans now who was actually there when they were rattling round Div 2/3 and getting about 74 people per game at Stamford Bridge.

From basically an embryo my allegiances were up for grabs. My mum took me to my first Brighton game at days old. We beat Orient 2-0, with Dickiv scoring.

Growing up I went to a lot of Brighton games before memories even formed. I’m informed that I was at the York game, shouting incomprehensible baby talk as the goalposts were snapped in half. As I grew older though, my dad tried to snatch me from the hands of BHAFC.

A Chelsea kit was bought for me. Zola on the back. I vividly remember going to a Chelsea game. A 2-1 win v Everton. The late Kevin Campbell for the visitors. Jimmy Floyd brace for Chelsea.

Despite my dad’s efforts I picked Brighton. My first ST was the year we won L1 with Zamora. I’d been to a few games the season before, but missed the Chesterfield game despite a ticket going free. Why? “There’s Brighton fans of 30 years who have never seen us win anything. You’ve been a fan for a year” was my mums logic.

Why did I pick Brighton? Honestly… my mums dad, my granddad who was my idol growing up. The other reasons? Hot Dog & Chips before the game. A Twix at half time.

I say all of that to say this. I f*cking hate those c*nts. F*cking detest them. Not even for a second do I see their CL and PL wins and regret not picking them. I don’t want Palace to go bust but my god I hope Chelsea tumble through the leagues and cease to exist. Leave us alone you f*cking soulless c*nts. Just f*ck off. You pricks.

I don’t even care that much about KDH, I just don’t want them c*nts to get him.

Just out of curiosity, what does your dad think of Scumbag FC and their antics under Boener?

Yep, having lived in Ibiza during the late sixties and early seventies when it was a hippie paradise I find it very sad to see the change. It was a magical island and now it’s a rich fuckers playground

I have Ibicenco friends who avoid any of the “hot spots” and have nothing to do with tourists and are not at all happy with what their beautiful island has become.
It’s changed a lot over the last 15-20 years as well. Go back 20 years and it was more focused on parties and music…..now it’s becoming like Las Vegas-on-sea with clubs like Ushuaia and Hi, EDM goons and confetti-cannons. DC10 used to be a ramshackle Monday morning carry-on playing some excellent deep house and minimal techno back in day, it’s a far cry from this today.

Obviously Chelsea are the ****s in this. But I worry that us not getting deals over the line has recently become a bit of pattern. KDH twice now (maybe), Kudus, and we fluttered our eyes at Colwill for ages and then ended up with the far inferior Igor. Not necessarily anyone’s fault our side, but the need to do these deals on the quiet, a la Pedro seems bigger than ever.

If his source is Leicester, well, they would say that, wouldn’t they? Backtracking on a deal is not a good look. Romano might be wrong but doubt this is any more reliable.

Unfortunately we knew this was coming when we started getting really good. Pedro's agent fooked up tbh. Impossible for us to do a deal on the quiet now. Will need a couple of seasons back near the rele zone for teams to leave us alone.

Romano knows it pays to make Chelsea look good.

To sell a story which repeats the legendary nabbing of Willian, whilst he was undergoing his Tottenham medical, will ingratiate him with Chelsea, regardless of facts.

Brighton factually.....
So frustrating as £25m plus Moder is a fantastic deal for us in my opinion!
Which is probably why it won't happen :ROFLMAO:

As much as I despise Chelsea (more than Palace to be honest) we really cannot moan about them sticking their ore into targets, these are good players and managers that we are clashing over, we must not get too precious over it and rather take it as a massive compliment on several levels.
1: We are even competing to sign players and managers of this standard, no history lesson needed.
2: We have ourselves recently plucked a promising young manager from a newly promoted team looking forward to an exciting season in the top tier of German football while their once all conquering rivals languish in the division below, real hope stumped before the season kicks off, We plucked numerous young starlets from here and all around the world, it happens and we are part of it. We can't grumble when we are eating at the top table and moaning because Chelsea ate more Almas caviar than anyone else.

Having said that, they are chavy tw@ts and their eyes are always bigger than their belly.

Going to be genuinely upset if this deal does not go through.

one because i think he is a terrific player and ideal for us and secondly because we tried in Jan and have long standing interest.
So we would not be going back if we didnt think we had a good shot at it.
Thirdly because KDH will just be a bench warmer largely at Chelsea, I know money talks but they are not in Europe etc

Chelsea trying to sign a soon-to-be-26-year-old midfielder who only 18 months ago was bang average in the PL (where he hasn't played since) really doesn't look all that good.

KDH would probably be a good player for us. Why Chelsea would want him when their alleged ambition is to compete for the biggest titles... I don't know. Guess its because of Maresca, but why did they spend time and effort on building up recruitment and scouting just to let their new manager sign players from his old Championship team?

He is a decent player but if Chelsea want him we should just move on. He's not worth the fight. Plenty of other good midfielders to go for.

We spend months working on a deal, building relationships with the selling club, the players agent, even the player themselves, and just before we complete the deal Chelsea wander up, unannounced and wave a load of cash in front of him and all that work goes out the window.

Pretty sure that's why they claimed they got rid of Poch - because he wanted a say in signings - and got in Maresca, because he didn't and was happy to work with what they have / who he's given. Plus KDH is over their self imposed age limit. Nothing they do makes any sense.

Finding it very difficult to get worked up about a player I only really know as not doing much in a Leicester team that got relegated. I’m sure the scouts / algorithm know what they are doing but if he went to Chelsea it would be very much a ‘meh’.

Even more so as Chelsea's squad is already bloated in the midfield department. If it were any other club, I'd say that the reports of interest are a load of bollocks initiated by the agent to get the max pay offer from BHA. However, it's Chelsea - the club that paid 25m for our 3rd choice keeper who wanted out - and their recruitment policy in general is hat-stand mental, so it's probably true.
