Given Lallana (90,000 p/w) has gone, if Dahoud (55,000 p/w) goes, along with Gross (65,000 p/w) and Undav (25,000 p/w), then that releases £13m per year from our wage bill. £20m given Fati has gone now too. That's nearly £400k p/w in wages available within the current budget - A sizeable amount to throw at new players

I have no idea where it came from but I feel like I’ve seen that Lallana figure quoted a few times. I’m sure it was reported in the media that he became our highest earner when he signed for us and it’s possibly evolved in speculation from there.
Sadly, I don’t think that is our strategy.
I'm losing count of the number of times that I've been told this but I'm confident you can handle it. This figure was on the basis of the contract he signed for 2020-23, and not the extension he signed for 23-24. Do you really think Bloom and Barber would say, he you go Adam, despite your compromised playing time and abilities, we're going to offer you exactly the same amount as the last contract that broke our wage ceiling?

The Lallana one was from about 3 different sites that record player wages, as were all the others. The point is, it's a substantial amount off the wage bill.
