Isn't it completely tinpot to reason like that?

Finland wants Sweden to lose in everything we do, but we hope they do really well. We have around 3x their population, better sports results in nearly every sport and has shat on them in several ways over the years, of course they're going to dislike us. But just because someone doesn't like you doesn't mean you need to dislike them back. A little brother picking a fighting with his bigger brother is cute and shrugable, a big brother fighting his smaller one is probably a bit of wanker.

The Ship is filling up nicely, looks like there will be more in than the England game last Sunday which is quite something. Dave is absolutely delighted, Alec is looking pensive.

I find in any "rivalry" it's far worse if you HATE someone and they're not bothered about you.

Worse than that? Actively cheering them on. Sure, you can want us to lose but I am Scottish tonight.

It's like when you clock early in an argument that your partner is shouting so you go EXTRA calm in your tone of voice to really highlight that you are the party not arguing and make the one shouter look particularly silly.

A few weeks after I first met Mrs Wz we were playing Scotland and I had a few mates round for the match, so invited her. When she arrived, she did rush me back indoors rather quickly with a big contribution of beer and crisps. The reason became apparent when my next mate arrived to find that pinned across my front door :lolol:

Yes, because they are part of our nation.

Of course a lot of them don’t want to be part of our nation and so our welcoming them and supporting their football team in these moments (prior to the inevitable failure at some point) must be even more annoying. :wink:

Yes just for TomHark Preston Park,
I knew he was suffering he allegedly went off line for 2 hours after the Germany game .
