If I’m allowed to start it… 😂

Bad day to be a Seattle fan. Tyler Lockett released, and DK Metcalf requests a trade. 😔

Looks like we’ll be running the tush-push on every down at this rate.

Was surprised with Metcalf but his production was down, I do wonder whether he’d succeed as much elsewhere.

He’ll probably get a new contract and stay?

Think with Smith-Njigba, Lockett probably makes way for a younger player.
?early draft pick…. Or a Smith-Schuster type

I think this was on last year's thread but one of the two really good players we have at Cleveland, Myles Garrett, has requested a trade. Can't blame him, he deserves better than the Cleveland shitshow, and whoever he goes to will be my 2nd team next year. (Barring two obvious destinations).

Christian Kirk on his way out of Jacksonville, Slay released by Philly, new deals for Barkley & Baun in Philly, Joey Bosa released by the Chargers (no surprise with his injury history tbh), and rumours this morning that Cleveland are interested in bringing in Gardner Minshew.

Its going to be a busy off-season!

I read a couple of days ago that Berry has said again that they are categorically against trading Garrett, and have no intention of entering any talks for him.
Could get spicy.

You'd have to hope for Browns fans that Minshew is the bridge QB for whoever they draft. However, with their management's recent record...

Fairly quiet for my Broncos at the moment although we did just fire the assistant who got tasered after punching a police officer outside Denver Airport recently.

Interesting indeed. How and when we move on from Geno has become a bit of a dilemma for Seattle - he’s a decent QB, but he clearly isn’t the future, so…

Pick #92 doesn’t exactly set the world alight, nor does the apparent interest in Darnold, but let’s see what’s next I guess.

And as a Seattle Kraken fan as well Yanni Gourde and Brandon Tanev, two of the members of the original expansion team were also traded. So yeah, pretty emotional last few days but from a business perspective all those decisions are understandable.

First of all a big thanks to Tyler, a true legend and one of my all time favorite players. Good luck to him wherever he goes, hopefully can get a ring but wouldn't surprise me if he'll retire either.

Geno was a great story but think it was time to move on. You know what you get with him, def a good QB and great person but we wouldn't make that next step with him. He could bring us to postseason but unlikely to go on a deep playoff run with him. Wish him all the best in Vegas reuniting with coach Carroll and the Raiders have become my 2nd favorite team.

Not too crazy about Darnold as Geno's replacement but really depends on the contract. Also think John Schneider will finally draft a QB after a long time. No idea where or who though but there were rumours over last two years he really likes Quinn Ewers and his draft stock has fallen so will probably be available to us but personally would prefer to address other needs first. I'm more a fan of building the team before inserting a young QB in there (like we did with RW3 in 2012) rather than try a rookie QB be a franchise saviour which usually fails.

As for DK still hope he'll change his mind and stay but don't see it happen if he really wants 30m per year. We want to become more running (or at least balanced) offense so doesn't make much sense to pay him that much when JSN has clearly established himself as our new #1 WR last season. As much as I like him if he hasn't really "bought in" with the new coaching staff then trading makes even more sense. Reportedly we want a 1st round pick, probably won't get that but would take a 2nd plus maybe another mid round pick or a player.

Anyway, we'll have a much more interesting offseason, starting with free agency next week than last year when new coaches were just settling in, installing their system and trying to evaluate the team. Now Macdonald&co know what they have and what they want.

We still need a few pieces but I think defense is on the right track (we def need to re-sign Ernest Jones though which should be able to do after clearing much cap space with moves last week) but offense needs to catch up. Clearly need to improve inferior OL and if DK will be traded then we'll need two WRs (we didn't really have much depth behind the big three and Jake Bobo is nothing more than a WR4 imo). We'll probably sign a veteran FA WR and then draft another one. We're good at RB and hopefully new offensive staff will find a better way to use Walker, Charbonnet and McIntosh.

The Steelers cannonballed into free agency Sunday night, acquiring wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks for a 2025 second-round draft pick and agreeing to a five-year, $150 million extension, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

DK gone too. We'll have a very different looking offense which is not a bad thing considering we mostly underperformed last season.

Good news is we re-signed both Ernest Jones and Jarran Reed on team-friendly contracts and have now around 60m cap space and 10 draft picks next month, including five in first three rounds. Should def bring some good talent.

Surprised to see Myles Garrett sign a new deal in Cleveland. $40m per year and $123m guaranteed.
Its almost like it was all about the money from the start....he isn't winning a championship with the Browns. Ever. 😏
Blimey, only just seen this. Yes, very unexpected. I'm pleased obviously, but strangely my opinion of Garrett has dipped a notch. He can't be short of a bob or two and you'd think he'd like to win something before his career ends. Never mind the Superbowl, even winning a divisional title is more than he'll get at Cleveland.

A bit like DK Metcalf, claiming he wanted to leave Seattle for a 'contender', and ideally 'somewhere warm'.

Goes to Pittsburgh.

A lot of people feeling the same on the Cleveland chat pages etc.
I was obviously gutted we may have lost him, but also quite pleased he came out and said what he did when he asked for a trade, bizarrely. He deserves to play for a winner, deserves a shot at a title, but this has soured it all for me a little bit. Its all about the money...again.

Hes said he will help recruit players, to make sure the Browns are going to be a contender. Hows he going to do that when we have little cap room, and are now tied to his and Watsons huge deals?!

Good start for the Bucs, re-signing Lavonte David - by far one of the leagues most underappeciated players. Nice to see he'll finish his career a one team man. (Potential HoFer? who knows).

The big question around us currently is Chris Godwin, hopefully we can get this deal done as they'll be a lot of teams waiting in the wings for a man of his calibre. But the lack of cap-space may punish our hopes.

But surely there's only another 200 years to go of paying Watson a gazzilion dollars per season – look on the bright side!

Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold reached agreement today on a three-year, $100.5 million contract including $55 million guaranteed with the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle has its successor to Geno Smith.

Darnold is now reunited with new Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak, whom he previously worked with in San Francisco. -- Adam Schefter, NFL insider

Doesn’t feel like an upgrade on Geno.
