NSC, does anyone know if a flight has sold out under economy, is it likely to come back on sale again at a later date?

Highly doubtful.

Economy seats are generally un-refundable, so by elimination it would mean that seat wouldn't be offered again.

I used Zoom in November last year to go to New York and i'd not use them again. They are not much cheaper than most of your major carriers but their planes are very old. For the extra 30 odd quid it costs to go with Virgin, BA et al, its worth it
