I hate Stoke.

Why for moving for a player that is unsettled and a proven goal scorer?

If he does then it will be first time down to the Withdean not in Brighton colours. :(

That's if he gets in the Stoke team.:lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Maybe he should drop down a Div to get his confidence. Has he ever done it at this level. The league position of the team and the quality of the players around him can't be his excuses this time.

The never-ending, if often fruitless, transfer speculation continues this weekend with West Ham United striker Bobby Zamora now linked with a move to the Britannia Stadium. Reports seem to suggest that Stoke missed out on a loan move for the Hammers front-man recently, while gossip and radio reports since are suggesting the possibility of the deal being resurrected - whether or not as purely a loan move or even a permanent deal remains to be seen. When questioned after the win at Watford this afternoon manager Tony Pulis refused to get drawn into the rumours, one way or another.

Zamora scored 14 First Division goals in an injury-hit season when Brighton were relegated in 2003 - in the two previous seasons he scored 30 goals in each as the Seagulls rose from the depths of Division Three. He made a £1.5 million move to Tottenham Hotspur after Brighton's relegation but a struggle for a first-team start at White Hart Lane resulted in a switch to West Ham United - a club who previously had him on their books as a youngster. He become a makeweight in the deal that carried Jermaine Defoe in the opposite direction to North London at the start of 2003/04. For whatever reason his career has stood still at Upton Park and he certainly hasn't been as prolific as his form previously suggested at Brighton. Zamora actually came on as a substitute for United in their 2-0 win against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this afternoon and set up Teddy Sheringham for the second goal, so it's not like any deal has been done and dusted by any means.

Zamora has been linked with a number of Championship clubs recently. Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock denied that the former Bristol Rovers forward was his number one target, while Reading have also been mentioned amongst a hatful who are keeping tabs on the one time England U21 International. Any such interest from Stoke, other than a loan move, would come hand in hand with potentially a large, more than likely record-breaking, transfer fee, while we'd also be talking some big wages too. As of yet it's hard to know what to believe, although as a story it has at least made a couple of local radio stations. In terms of profile it ranks up with the failed bid for another highly regarded player - Millwall winger Paul Ifill, earlier in the season.
