Hull has some nice parts.

They are a big club waiting to happen.

23,000 for a Tuesday night game against Oxford last year.

9,000 away to Sheffield Wednesday.

Hed be great up there but their fans can be quite demanding which might not be great if he had a slow start.

We are no way bigger than Hull, as Richie says above, a big club waiting to happen, always have been.

Although get ready for their attendances to dip slightly now Hull FC Rugby League team are starting their season again.

Not everyone in Hull can afford to go to both and League is more popular and more of a community club then the Tigers.

Pearson has a few bob as well.

FACT OF THE DAY:

Hull is the largest city in Europe which has never had a football team in the top domestic league.

People always say that, and it gets on the nerves of Hull City fans. And they have a point, otherwise how come HCAFC are averaging 17,500 in what is effectively division 3 whereas HullFC have averaged only 11,000 since moving to KC Stadium

Because half of Hull's rugby league fans go and watch Hull KR.

No they don't. About 2,000 watch Hull KR, and that has been the case for about a decade. HKR have never even been in Superleague.

But they did get to the challenge cup final once and play Hull and 80,000 turned up!

It is a fact that in West Hull, Hull FC are far more part of the community then Hull City Tigers.

I also never said that Hull FC stole all their support but if 11,000 people are going to watch Hull FC I would bet some of them are people who stop going to Hull City during Rugby League season.

I just said their attendances would drop, I didnt say that nobody would turn up.

If you're talking rugby league then Rhinos or Bulls take some beating not Kingston Rovers.???

Would that be LEEDS Rhins and BRADFORD Bulls?

Why the f*** would we be talking about them when we are quite clearly discussing the impact the support of the two HULL sides has on Hull City Tigers FC?

Personally I'd love the choice. I quite like rugby (both codes) and feel quite jealous watching Super League games on telly where 15-20,000 are present.

hull fc and hull kr used to get really big attendances in the 80's when both clubs were massive. i have a lot of family in hull, who would always tell you that rugby is their no 1 sport. but i have also seen the massive exodus of rubgy supporters that watch the tigers instead. this switch in popularity coincided with both rugby clubs becoming crap. and now football has captured the imagination instead. hull are a big club. and football seems to have become the no 1 sport now.
i know my dad who is a tigers fan would be really happy with the possible arrival of zamora. but i dont think it would be such a positive move for him. unless he made it permanent. it may have some truth in this rumour. 1, because of allsop's departure to sydney. and 2, taylor being an ex manager whom zamora was sucessfull under.

I would imagine this rumour has started as the Hull chairman went on record at the weekend as saying he was going to bankroll Peter Taylor in the transfer market for a striker and someone has come to the conclusion that it may be Zamora.

I personally can't see it as he would have to relocate up north and I still beleive he wants to make a go of it at West Ham.

Reckon joining hull is a great idea, start up fresh again and hit form with hull in the championship next season.

We could match hull in crowds im sure of that:D

Sorry, cannot agree at all with the Hull are bigger than us attitude on this thread. It's nonsense.

Richie, you said it, Hull have never been a top flight club. So that makes them 'sleeping giants' does it? And somehow Wigan are, as well - again, they've not been a top flight club! It's utter nonsense, neither of them have any 'big club' history. Just cos they are currently getting decent crowds, thanks to the new stadium and chairmen with money, that doesn't make them 'big'.

Hull, like Wigan, is a rugby area first and foremost. Always will be.

We are not a rugby area, and when we get our new ground, we'll sh*t on the both of them!

There seems to be a general attitude on this board that somehow we are not a big club. Again, nonsense. A million f*cking people live in Sussex. A quarter of those in Brighton and Hove. We're the sleeping giants, people. Some of you might wanna play down our potential, but after 10 years of the sort of crap we've had, I'm gonna sing it from the rooftops.

Or Richie and Gully, are we just a provincial club as the inspector concluded?
