Spoke to a WHU guy tonight who has not missed a game home or away in 15 years. His son plays for the reserves. Anyway, said that Bobby Zamora has never been given a fair crack but not really liked by the club. Said would not be surprised if we got him back. They know we have no money but they like the look of Harding.
Might be a rumour but wondered what others thought.

It's been said before and no doubt will be again, but wages will prevent this happening as Harding is still one of our lesser paid players as I understand it, whilst Bobby would not come back unless he was the highest paid at the club I suspect. If wages were not an issue though I'd happily do the deal, much as I do rate Harding.

Will people stop dreaming, Bobby is not coming back to us.His wages are too much for us to afford and if we have got any money then it needs to spent on Nicolasss

Some time down the line Bobby may rejoin us but on the basis of wages alone i cannot see it happening within the next 5 years.

We need to look forward and not get too misty eyed about the past.

Why on earth would you want him? OK lower league player. Not good enough for 'championship' :)

I would swap Bobby for Harding LIKE A SHOT

Swapping the future for the past is a bad move.

Great player for most of his time here but by the end I was pleased to see him go. Harding may go on to great things, at least he doesn't look out of place as an International. With the advantage of hindsight BZ's inept performances as an under 21 were not because he was played out of position but becasue he wasn't good enough.

No thanks, much rather see half of NSC eat humble pie as Harding attracts more and more interest from top clubs, even though he is apparently useless :)

Wages, wages and wages - FFS we can't afford to pay him the money he is on now.

I wouldn't. I doubt whether Bobby would play at the back either. :dunce:

"Okay" lower league player - 31 goals followed by 32 goals? ??? He managed 14 goals for a relegated side at this level previously, so I don't think his ability here is in question. However, I don't think his pride would let him come back, even if we could afford the £8-10,000 a week or so he must be on.

I've said the exact same thing about about Zamora a couple of times on here...he WAS a great player until Hoddle kept sniffing around, filling his head with tales of glory with Spurs. He then lost all interest in the Albion when we needed 100% from him to keep us up.

It's time to move on. I personally couldn't give a hoot about him now, have no interest in his career, whether he played or not, etc. Dan Harding plays for us (for how much longer we'll have to wait and see) so I follow his carrer with interest. Only look back for reference-not with the intent of bringing players/managers back to the club; it rarely works-Ian Rush being the only case I can think of when he returned to Liverpool.
