I tuned into the Birmingham commentary on Seagulls World and once Bobby came on he was being mentioned every couple of minutes.

He really tried hard and had a few shots on target, hitting woodwork and just over the bar as well.

Postiga on the other hand was quiet.

Me too - can't wait for MOTD.

I'm afraid it's still The Premiership this season!:(

Missed a sitter according to the reports but changed the whole demeanour of the spurs side. Sounds like Hoddle wasted £6+ million on Postiga, only bargain Bobby will save his blushes! :glare:

It will be kind of surreal watching BZ on a small box week in week out.

Mind you Gunter - you've seen some "boxes" in your time.

:p :p :p :p :p

No matter how you dress it up, it was still shocking to get a first glimpse of BZ in action in a Spurs kit, holding his white-sleeved arms to his head on missing that late header.

Hard to come to any conclusion on how he played from the ITV show!

from the Observer (brilliant book of sports photos today):

..............

" But it was the 56th- minute introduction of Zamora for the disappointing Helder Postiga a £6.2M singing from Porto, that made the difference for Spurs. His pace and presence gave Jamie Redknapp something to hit with his passes and for half an hour Birmingham were hanging on"

...............

"Spurs squandered their best chance to salvage a point in the final minute, when Zamora lost his marker to meet Steven Carr's deep cross but directed his header over"

Hoddle's quote from the BBC website

Here is a quote from the BBC website from Hoddle:-

Helder Postiga made a low key debut for Spurs while fellow new arrival Bobby Zamora looked the more promising after coming on as a substitute for the Portuguese youngster.

Hoddle added: "Bobby is one thing we will have up our sleeves this year.

"Whoever is on the bench will come on and affect the game.

"It was always going to be a difficult game for Helder and he just needs a bit more time."

He still wants Bobby to be a bench warmer. I suppose he has to justify spending 6 million on Postiga.
