If they announced them earlier and 25 was taken off Kaz and left empty it would be pretty obvious what was happening. I think the club knew all along.

A few points on here.

Squad numbers for a lot of teams were released yesterday, Stoke announced that Glenn Johnson will be number 8 for them next season.

Stockdale did ask for number 13, its his prefered number so dont read anything into that, much like Koosh was never number 1 when he was with us.

Kayal moving to number 7 may sell a few more shirts too.
