I never understood why Brighton doesn't hold a big trial day for all the youngsters released from Prem Clubs. You have all the London clubs and Pompey close enough for them to get down here. You then cherry pick the best 1, 2 or 3 from them. We are in the ideal position to hold this, still I may be wrong it may not be possible.

Whitbread is Gash, Pidgley was good for Watford a couple of seasons ago but Henderson is the better keeper.

No great loss.

If we have Joely L, then maybe we don't. I would rather we signed a midfielder who can actually run AND move forwards, and a striker who was at least in some way accustomed to the concept of putting a ball in a net.

oh yeah a midfielder and striker are defo our main priorities

i'd much prefer joel in the centre of defence as he doesn't really offer much going forward, and mayo is NOWT SPECIAL

would rather have a specialist left back with mayo as back up, and lynch as a back up centre back and emergency left back

Polegate
A midfielder, a left back and a striker, and i'd be quite happy, provided they are proven in League 2 at the very least

I don't think a new midfielder is particularly likely, we have Carpenter, Oatway, Hammond, Reid, Fraser, Chamberlain and at a push Mayo already.

obviously a central midfielder who actually has the ability to pass to someone on our team (ie. NOT carpenter, oatway or hammond, but ie nicolas) and a striker who vaguely knows where the goal is, a real FOX IN THE BOX are our priorities, but they have been our priorities for years and have never been sorted

In order: Don't rate, don't rate, would play, would play on the right, bit to young to throw in for the season, ditto and would be back up.

I agree, I'd LIKE a new midfielder, but it's probaby not going to happen.

Why would you play Reid on the right? Carole will destroy League One. He won't even need to pass.

i was thinking this the other day aswell

i really think carole and frutos will have a FIELD day in league 1

the fact that carole can't cross won't be that bad as he'll have about 20 chances per game to put in a decent one:)

Just my personal preferance really, I think with him and Fruity you have more of a passing side. I also think the team looks more solid with him there and would use Carole as an impact player later on in the game.

You are forgiven, BoF. Just don't ever let the thought that Big Fed was anything other than an unrivalled success enter your head again! I expected more of you, I thought you were one of the ones that appreciated his flair, his skill, and his body - don't let me down again:lolol:

I guess I am still bitter and twisted about his departure. I often saw him in my dreams lifting the World Cup and ripping off his Argie shirt to reveal an "I love Brighton " T-Shirt.

He taught me how to love again. Gone but not forgotten.
