You do realise that Pikey is a racist term ?

Good job I didn't call you a pikey poof then. That would have been racist AND homophobic.

Edit: I see sheebo beat me to it. The point still stands though, you hypocritical tit.

Be interested to know about that myself.

Here you go:

Bionix Hinged Knee Support Brace K6 Large For Men Women - Adjustable Open Patella Knees Stabilising ACL Ligament Meniscus Tear Arthritis Supports with
Sold by: GallantSports

I gotit from Amazon and when I clicked on the old order it says 'currently unavailable'.

Honestly it is like I never had knee surgery. The NSCer who recommended it says it may be better to buy two for 'balance' but I am barely aware I'm wearing it.

So, if these people are accurate: https://football-observatory.com/-values-58951, Palace are only asking for a minimum of between 150% and 200% of his market value. Very reasonable. I'm sure any potential buyers would be happy to pay over the odds to ensure that CPFC don't have to cough up what they will owe to Man Utd.

But his value is his value right? A bit like us with Ben White? If we don't want to sell we put £50M on his head

His value is what another club is willing to pay for him. Palace can "value" him at £300m if they like but it doesn't mean that's what he's worth as nobody would ever pay it.

True - but as we all know, if the player really wanted to go and had been responsible for keeping us in the premier league for multiple seasons, we would not be pricing him out of the market.

Because we are not *****.

That's right, but we wouldn't simultaneously be telling him that were open to him making a move. That's what Palace did to Zaha in the summer and look like doing again. It's bound to end in tears, perhaps Palace's, definitely Zaha's and hopefully ours (I'm still wiping my eyes and sniggering remembering the last window).

More importantly Zaha and Parrish had a gentlemen's agreement that he would be allowed to go if any top clubs came up with a sensible offer.

Pretending that the sensible level is £10 -20m above his max market value would appear to be a little bit caddish, in the circumstances.

Dunno what the fuss is about , he tried playing for a big club and was pony , he's better off staying at a small club and have the best seat on the team bus .

Agreed.

It’s not dissimilar to the “Maupay for £40m” thing. As our only consistent goal threat, his value to us is likely higher than any one would currently reasonably offer.

Surely the key difference is we:

1. Don't need to sell anyone - Palace's finances are somewhat shakey and they seemingly do need to sell someone (not necessarily Zaha, but who else is worth enough?).
2. We value Maupay and White high because we don't want to sell them - Parris has told Zaha that he can leave is the right offer is received.
3. Zaha has been pushing for a move for a number of windows and will get increasingly stroppy if 'reasonable' offers are rejected.

Plus:
4. we haven't already made a profit from transferring him to a big club once previously
5. didn't **** up by trying to get him back on the cheap and accepting a ridiculously high sell on clause.

Maybe. Or Maybe not.

Players are often worth more to the club that owns them than other clubs would be willing to pay.

It’s as simple as that.

A Palace view:

The problem is its very hard for us to sign quality players. Sadly our stature, stadium, history, financial clout and prospects mean quality players prefer to sign for others.

We can pick up slightly old fringe players from the big boys but thats about it and even with them we have to let the likes of Watford, Brighton, Villa, Southampton, Bournemouth etc have first dibs. All the above have signed players we seriously wanted so if we're being out bid by the like of them for players we want it means we are talking about the dregs it seems.

I'm not sure how we sign enough quality to adequately compensate for the loss of Wilf, its an absolutely massive challenge and a seminal moment in the history of this club.
History tells us that when we've lost a star man we are destined for fairly swift relegation.

It's time for Parish's biggest challenge yet and lets see if he can produce another Rabbit or two out of the hat.
