My wide arse is due to the amount of food I eat, not to do with my race. If, however, it were to become commonplace to slag of a particular ethnic group for their hereditary large bums or big noses, then that would be racism. Same with height - my wide but short arse is not a characteristic of my race of people, so go ahead.

Picking on someone for being ginger doesn't fall within the boundaries of racism, racism is a hate crime and I don't think anyone can seriously argue there is genuine hate involved in the pisstaking here. Plus there's been no systematic historical persecution of gingers based purely on the colour of their hair which is obviously why racism is rightly taken more seriously.
That being said though I won't deny reckoning that you are far likelier to get bullied at school for being ginger these days than you are for being black. And for such kids the wider historical contexts won't matter a jot, nor will the fact their ginger hair will have no future bearing on their prospects- they just don't want to be picked on and why should they be? Bullying is bullying and shouldn't be tolerated so I really can sympathise with gingers as it must be especially hard not having a soul as well.
