In the premiership, the most potent strikeforce was Crouch and Defoe, yet not once in this campaign, even when we needed goals did he bring them on together.

To bring Heskey on today was just madness.....that at the time was not what we wanted. If the commentators, managers like Redknapp, panel of shearer, etc all said that heskey was mistifying, then do you not think in that MONUMENTALLY pea size brain you have that maybe they are right? I think you have been watching too much third division shit and havent a clue.

- Surely a more mobile striker was needed rather than Heskey, who couldn't outpace anyone and has a poor scoring record.

Its pointless blaming the forward partnership though, there were problems throughout the side, such as:

-Questions about who the starting goalkeeper should be, and Rob Green making a stupid mistake didn't help.
-a central defensive pairing which kept changing, Terry playing on the wrong side and getting caught out of position too often (something he's used to but normally only with teammates wags)
-Our fall backs both going too high up the pitch, making the side stretched and leaving too much free space for a counter attack.
-Gerrard playing out left without the discipline needed to stay out wide, he kept drifting in and even turned up on the opposite flank at one stage, meaning when we were looking to lay it off out wide, we couldn't and as a result we played too narrowly and limited the space we had to use.
-Barry failing to carry out a defensive midfielders role vs the germans, like our defenders, he was found to be too high up the pitch to help break up or slow down German attacks and allow players to get back.
And so on.

Yup. At least, solely blaming them. I imagine the criticism will largely follow club lines, i.e. man utd fans will defend rooney blame the others; liverpool fans defend gerrard, caragher, johnson; chelsea fans defend terry, cole, cole and lampard, and so on. If we need Heskey to score more goals then maybe we should change the way we play. It is embarrassing.
