What it says on the tin.

Mine would be 2000/2001 as my favourite and 95/96 the disaster.

Favourite would be 2000/1, when Withdean still seemed alright by comparison, Micky Adams at the helm, Bobby Z banging them in.

Least favourite, either at Gillingham.

96/97 My favourite purely for survival and the drama of it all. Every day was a new installment and a late great run of home form combined with amazing belief and support from the fans.

Worst probably 2002/03 when we went 12 games losing, Lost 5-0 to the scum and after making a fight of survival went down.

87-88 was my favourite, went to more games than ever before, having gone to my first game in 83 (but not allowed to attend cup final, it was my first real experience of watching a successful team. :censored: ).

Fav 1982/83 first season going with my mates and although 1996/7 was awful we had a lot of media coverage to our plight and lots cameradery from other clubs and 3rd May 1997 was fantastic to a point ......so my worst season would be the Gillingham 1997/1998 desperate desperate times.

88/89 was my worst when I ruptured my knee ligaments and couldn't play anymore. I was 23 at the time and couldn't watch any football for several years. Even missed the whole of the 91 play off season as I had gone completely off football.

Quite enjoyed 1990-91, the run to the playoffs, playing Liverpool in the cup, Wade scoring 4 against Newcastle, Byrne and Small scoring for fun.

Worst was probably 1997/8, first year at Gillingham. Withdean seemed an age away, and crowds of 1,000 seeing 3-0 defeats by Barnet etc.

90/91 was the most fun. I only missed one home game, went to my first away games and Wembley.

We shipped more goals than we scored but almost every match was fun (despite losing 6 at Oldham and 4 at home to Wednesday amongst others). We made the play-offs with Wilkins' gorgeous stoppage-time free kick on the last day. And that was in the days when you never knew exactly how long there was to go, adding to the tension.
PLUS we beat Millwall home and away in the play-off semi. The only disappointment was obviously the anti-climax at Wembley.

I think the worst for me was probably 95/96, because it was the first time I'd really seen my beloved Albion play consistently with no passion or ability, or promise of anything better. There were ominous, portentious feelings of what was to come.

Plus I took a few non-football friends and girlfriends to some abysmal showings, and they found it understandably very difficult to appreciate why this was something that I spent my time and money on...

Favourite was 1977/78
No family ties, just stared work so had a bit of cash - went to nearly all the games and the tension of the last 3 was amazing. The crowds in the Goldstone for the Charlton and Blackpool games were unbeliveable.

Worst was 1997/98
After the euphoria of the last few games of the previous season, it was all a bit of an anti-climax - don't forget that season we were even worse than 1996/97, with only 35 points. It was only due to Doncaster (20 points) being complety SHIT that we stayed up.

Best- 90/91 What a stylish team that was eh?

Worst- 97/98 Utter Crap and a four nil drubbing by Darlington and Marco Gabbiadini bagging a hat trick on my birthday at Priestfield.

Most Hyped- 93/94 Brady's second season in charge and the Kurt Nogan McDougald strike partnership set to flourish and bring us promotion in a swath of beautiful football.

Favourite is probably 87/88, because it was our one good season whilst I was living about half a mile from the Goldstone.

Closely followed by 71/72, because it popped my promotion cherry as a supporter.

Worst has to be 97/98 for similar reasons to Hiney. Never in the field of human conflict have we be forced to witness such utter dross week in, week out - and there wasn't even the threat of relegation to put an edge on it...
